Look here
for the premium flat or super flat LS cables on spool.
I have no experienceor idea how they sound, just found that product.

Dit you try another power cable on your G95-its easier as you only need one cable..
And why your system sounds bright and harsh ?
What was before the G95?
Dit you ever try a power conditioner?
I would test some cables and conditioner before i go over 5x long speaker cables.
And also try out the WA stickers(for source see my previous post),its not voodoo.I dont like to recommand things what i dont understand, but i have to as they sound good.
Dont beat me here, thats my experience and also from some friends..

If so try Van den Hul with carbon conductors.
I already have several VDH D102 111 hybrid interconnects from my 500 kit - but these are redundant with my G95.

Home-cinema listening is fantastic to listen to on the G95. No problem there whatsoever. Listening to music is another story, though.

Initially, I couldn't understand why music listening was not as epic as when watching movies. My local Meridian dealer explained that the problem lay with the interaction of the revealing/clinical Class D ('digital') amps in my G95 - together with the bright HF drivers in my Mission Elegante speakers.

His recommendation was that appropriate speaker cabling would remedy the problem. I'm merely trying to ascertain others' possible real-world experience of alternatives.

I had not previously considered a 'power conditioner' - and will need to investigate further.

Cardas cable is a great quality cable known to add a little warmth to the sound.

How about Van Damme? Either from their hifi range or their pro range.

It's excellent quality and inexpensive, and you feel satisfied knowing that it's used by many a recording studio! They also do a LSZH rated variant if you want to install it.

Cheers,
Simon

I've been surprised to discover a growing trend for people utilising CAT5 cables, with banana/spade connections, for their conventional loudspeakers.

I had previously indicated (tougue-in-cheek) that I wanted the equivalent of Meridian SpeakerLink to pair my G95 with my Elegante speakers.

My understanding is that Meridian SpeakerLink is effectively CAT7.

I'm not being serious, but has anyone attempted - let alone heard of anyone else - using this method for connecting conventional loudspeakers to their power-amps?

CATXXX has been promoted on a number of forums as a DIY method with the advantage that if you can get a flat one (non Meridian) it can be hidden under carpets or going further patched in using RJ45 jacks

I have used garden mower mains cable in the past. Cheap as chips and always worked fine. Cheap to try nothing to lose. Thoughts, probably way of Mark, Chris smile

I read a blind comparison review years ago which included mains extension cable, in Stereophile I think. It did quite well.

When it came time to hook up the bedroom system, I thought I'd try it. I got some 12 gauge, 4 core copper stranded cable, which allows for bi- wire in a cable. I also bought WBT style banana plugs off Alibaba. No critical comparisons performed, but I'm pretty happy with the sound.

Yes, I've used cat5 before for surround duties (due to rental house limitation). I bundled both channels into a single cat 5 cable, 4 cores per channel, 2 cores per line. For low power duties, it worked just fine and it sounded just as good as the 69p/m studio spares cable I was using before. I'll admit I was surprised.

Over 40 years ago, I utilised twin core mains cable to hook-up my 4x Celestion Ditton 15's to my Sansui QRX3300 - and then - Sansui QA7000: as I had spent all my saved-up pocket money on the rest of my system.

With my more recent Yamaha RX-V2700, I used PureAV 16AWG speaker cables. I am currently/temporarily using these same cables with my G95.

The spec sheet for the PureAV cables indicates that they 'deliver crisp, natural sound' - but my experience is that they provide too crisp a sound for my current system.

So, I'm not looking to buy a like-for-like 'cheap/budget' replacement, otherwise I would simply buy QED and be done with it. I want to have my cake and eat it: quality cable with slim proportions that will provide neutral/transparent sound, without exaggerating the top end.

Neither do I want to change my speakers. The floor-standers were originally 2k alone. Other than my Meridian dealer's recommendation for Tellurium-Q I'm investigating alternative 'quality' options that will do justice to the G95.

I've generally found Transparent's cables to be quite neutral and detailed. I don't know if they would filter undesirable edge though. I've bought them used at significant discount from new (60-75%). I figured I'd be able to sell them on without too much of a loss if they didn't suit, which might work in your situation too.

Synergistic Research and MIT cables that I've heard previously were also quite neutral and detailed.

Cheers, Ian
