I think individual tracks can be imported into Sooloos. Is the problem that if one or more tracks is missing or not included in an import, the meta data isn't found?

Cheers, Ian

It's repetitive often out of context "Soap Box" complaints are that are frowned upon.
Vogon stuff perhaps. Extremely boring.

How can you be sure? After all this time, she might have married and moved to Portugal, keeping a well off topic, low profile.

Enno - I want to say thank you to you and all of the development staff that had the vision to create Sooloos, and the opportunity to provide some input to improve on what is already an amazing system. It was the reason I started using Meridian products, and continues to provide enjoyment every day.

Here are some more ideas to consider:

- edit metadata (iPad): While listening, it would be great to be able to change track picks, album picks and album ratings. For other edits I am OK with using Control:PC.

- zone power off

- Backgrounds (Control:10/15): Provide more backgrounds to choose from, or the ability to select any .jpg file

- Clock: Provide option to display current time based on user entered time zone.

- Sleep Timer / Alarm: Utilize clock feature and zone power off to create.

- Display Order: Allow the user to select row or column. Currently the iPad displays album covers ordered vertically by column, and the Control:10/15 is displayed horizontally by row.

- Sort By Composer: Add another option to the "Sort By" pick list to sort by Composer the way sort by Artist works.

- Focus on Track Picks: Just like the way Album Picks works.

- Search defaults: Provide additional default options after entering the search menu to search for "Current Artist" and "Current Track". While listening to a track, I want to locate other versions of the same track in my library quickly without typing.

- Rhapsody 'Recommendation' based on focus. Allow the user to select a focus in their library and then query Rhapsody to find what albums are missing in the library by those artists. Display this in a list (like the library search display), and allow the user to then add either individual albums or all of the albums listed into their library.
This would save a lot of time checking to see when a new album is released by an artist.

Our friends from M can go two ways:
- small evolutionary step
- another revolution

I would vote for the second smile

At the start, Sooloos was revolutionary:
- an easy way to store lots of music
- and an enormously simple and convenient way to access it (though a beautiful UI).
- with a awesome sound quality
- allowing you to rediscover your collection

Fast forward to 2014...

Easy storage and access of music is mainstream. We're no longer interested in our collection, we are used to accessing all the music (and video) on the planet. In quality that ranges from HD to acceptable. All through streaming platforms like Qobuz, Spotify, Rhapsody, etc.

The benefits of a Sooloos system are diminishing rapidly in this light.

I don't have any CD's anymore, why would I? Music sits on my NAS. But, more importantly, I would expect that in a year or so I don't have any local music anymore. Too much hassle to maintain, with too little gain in SQ. A simple, very low cost, subscription will bring me more music to discover than I can ever procure.

But... it is still a pain to access these streaming sources. Sure, Rhapsody is embedded in Sooloos and my SBT does my Spotify access. But, both cripple the experience. The interface with these services is very restricted. Power up the Spotify app on my laptop or iPad and it becomes much easier to discover music and share with others.

Maybe the Devialet approach is a direction, and the focus would be more on a 'DAC type' linkage.
But it would be nice not to need a PC / Mac you need to setup and configure yourself.

Real awesomeness would start with a cloud based service.
A simple hook into all the streaming stuff, from one Meridian jump point, streaming with HD to several types of devices, not just the awesome Meridian set at home, but also the iPhone at work.

I'm not sure what the right solution is, but then again I am not 'M' smile. For me, simple tweaks simply won't cut it.

My current streaming solution, based on files on my NAS/MC200 is end of life... smile

Just thinking it would be nice to have a "continue to play all album" choice for occasions when you play one or two tracks and decide you'd like to hear the rest. This would save manually adding all the tracks in.
Also a "relative artist" link to associate artists that are linked but not the same band.
Example, Donald Fagin and Steely Dan. User configurable.

Thoughts, Chris smile
