FYI, the Ikea "Lack" TV bench is quite a nice and pretty cheap piece of furniture on which to put a centre speaker, especially if you need the speaker low down (to avoid interfering with a screen). And it supports a 65kg DSP5500HC...

I don't know about this stand but I have one of the Lack coffee tables, supplied by my compound in Riyadh, and it is complete rubbish. Broke to pieces when I dragged it across the floor. On my second one now...

I have one of these. Has lasted quite a few years, but then I only have a telly, small center speaker and a couple of pieces of equipment on it. No humongous center speaker and never been dragged across the room. True, it is beginning to bow a bit in the middle so will need replacing once my evil plans of a DSP home cinema come to fruition...

We used one of these with a 5000C on it & it was absolutely fine. It comes with 2 vertical metal supports which can be placed between equipment on the lower level to support the upper level. I remember one HH used one with a 5500HC & it coped fine.

Now that we've bought 2 subs that will go under the screen, the Ikea 'bench' will no longer see active service & the HC will be placed on one of MI's bespoke speaker shelves.

I've used various combinations of LACK products for AV for years - a very quick / practical & cheap solution while you're researching much more esoteric HiFi furniture... which you never seem to get around to buying... wink

I have looked at some of the Ikea furniture online. Really does look like a good low cost option.

I was wondering if you could buy 2 of these and stack them with the legs secured with L braces so you have room for a center channel speaker and some components. Are these not built well enough for that?

They're very solidly built. Not exactly upmarket furniture but knowing the low cost of entry you can't really go wrong.

At least one HH has used one to support a (80kg) 5500HC so it's safe to say they're pretty rugged. Like most massive businesses they have their basic sums well sorted.

No relation to the seller.

My then girlfriend (now wife) had one of these with a 40"plasma on top. It bowed slightly in the middle after some time.
