When you try to do a mass genre add/removal on the iPad app, the genre index sorting is completely different than the genre index sorting when creating a focus.

I suspect that this is just an oversight/bug, but it really makes finding the right genre difficult when doing a mass change.

Another thing that would be super useful would be a few blank fields that we can put any data into, and then use for sorting, focus-creation, etc. (this would be similar to iTunes "Grouping" field." It could be used for notes {unstructured data) or something more structured like classical work composition date.

I suspect a good percentage of folks have some customer data they'd want to track and then be able to act on via focus creation.

Enno,

Just seen Dusty in Memphis (mono) is now available in 24/192 from HDTracks.

This news alone (IMHO) justifies sorting out the mono bug.

Thank you,

Dominic

The key issue for me has always been the inability to import/or delete specific tracks from a CD or download file. I have no use for collecting and storing music I will never listen to.

This has been discussed elsewhere on the forum but didn't see it just now after quick scan through this thread:

* allow for single track Works
(And possibly streamline how to group tracks as a Work)

And not sure how often this would be used, but:

* give users the ability to turn on and off track and album volume leveling from the iPad app

Count me in favor of all the other great suggestions posted already, including track level metadata.

For me, ease of editing is the most needed. In a perfect world, I would want each disk taking up a line, sort of like an excel spread sheet view, with user defined columns, which I can sort by. Here I can identify incorrect titles, box set #, year, disk level ratings, meta data and other items at the disc level

Perhaps if one hovers their mouse over the title, then it will show the cover art.

Then one can click on each disk and the play list will drop down with info there. As I said, the columns could be custom and sorted by the user, but here again would show basic track title, time, sequence. One could edit all of this, add track level ratings, etc.

While I agree more function would be good with the iPad, I would hate to have editing functions limited with the intent of the iPad being the primary input for editing. That would just be terrible.

I look at the iPad as a control and not as an edit function, as it has its limitations.

I thought the whole idea of Sooloos was to allow you explore music that you never would have before explored. I've ended up enjoying tracks/albums that I would never have thought about listening to on CD. Bit like listening to the radio - it gives you something different. Except with Sooloos you should just be able to like/unlike it.

Agreed, I always try to play at least one unplayed track at every listening session.
Also I am a bit of a completist so like to have it all.
I load music I hope others may enjoy as well, even if it's not my taste.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't have the facility you want though.

Control:PC app / Control:Mac - who put the delete album button under the 'Save' button? - on a sluggish machine I end up answering Yes to the are-you-sure message out of habit - moving that would be nice.

My wish list for the backend (core/store) would be Virtual Appliances (i.e. vSphere).

Unfortunately the number of other people that would want this would probably be near zero (and those that did would probably also be able to DIY) Then again, the arguments about jitter, virtual machine contention and the colour of the LAN cable jacket might be worth it.

Might also be useful for customer demo / diagnostics with vmware Player - i.e. troubleshooting ID40/41's, and would cut the cost of MDMS entry to a 'source' component (although that might not be so popular at the 'M' end)

Never keen about relying on stuff without ECC RAM and hardware RAID, but that's probably just me.

Since my iTunes server (for the Apple TV's), general windows browsing/download machines, Control:PC loader, iPad video server and test machines are sitting on a lowish power vSphere server pulling a max of 120W (DC 24V - soon to be battery backed), it's a shame to have to have another 20W going to the MC200.

Failing that, a windows service to provide 'store' - allows fanless/SSD storage for those that don't want to buy a QNAP (x86), but purchase of a 'Core' still required.

Now that I've ripped my CD's, I find I'm purchasing more music from download sites like HDTracks. Many album downloads contain a PDF of the booklet that came with the physical album.

The ability to import an associated PDF file in ControlPC/Mac and, in the Sooloos iPad app, another tab next to Review/Mood/Genre/Credits etc with a PDF viewer would be great.

It is heartening to know Meridian are listening to their customers! Thanks smile

I guess I look at it a bit different from you and that is cool. I only load music on my Sooloos after listening to it or from artists I enjoy. I go thru my system a couple of times a year, delete discs I no longer want to listen to and trade or give away the "back-up" CD. It would be nice if I could load those one or two songs I enjoy of certain discs.
