I know what you Chris, when I first switched from a 5000HC to a 5500HC, I loved the sound but the size did take a while for me to get used to (of course I never let on about my initial reservations to SWMBO).

the walls and ceiling are in different shades from almost black (wall behind the screen) to 2 different shades of grey.

No advice taken on colours, just my own preferences.
Yes, there are two long small windows that have shutters on the outside so the room is in complete darkness after about 20 seconds.
