HDMI for highresolution audio will require new HW. The chips were announced at CES and were supposed to begin shipping in quantity around now to CE companies.

Questions -no order
1)When will the setting SW for DSP 5k/.till 8k(eg. Axis,boundary,...)works? 2)Input card(800 series) for pickups with HiRes A/D conversion. Now only IA35 with IA00 -no HiRes solution. 3)Decoding of discrete Quattro LPs -on digital domain. 4)Possibility to reduce via SW the DSP modes for every input-eg. for CD only music and direct can be selected 5)Phase and burst(impulse)correction via SW for the chassis adjustable to your hearing place-not the standart optimisation for 1m distance measurement like now-( for DSP speakers ) 6)Video scaling and optimising card 7)No downsampling from 192 sources 8)192 kHz option for 8k
thanks
Robert

What resolutions does the HDMI interface on the G9x support in auto mode ie 1280x768; 1366x768?
Are there any plans for manual configuration/selection of the scaling and timing?
Plans for a media server? Any form, audio or video?

Any plans for a stand-alone room correction box, preferably just 2 channel?

Out of interest, what benefit would USB 2 support offer? Or are you talking about on products other than the G68. I personally don't see speed being an worthwhile advantage as things only take a few seconds on USB 1 anyhow.
I would like the ability to plug the PC into the controller, via USB, serial, ethernet or whatever, and have this also communicate with the other items, DVD's, speakers etc, via the standard comms link.

G98 in auto mode will scale to the resolution reported in the EDID. If it reports 1400x1200, it should scale to it. The problem is the EDID is wrong 99% of the time in CE displays.
Even the HDMI displays that were supposed to be certified have incorrect EDIDs.

I know the Meridian philosophy about room correction at higher frequencies, and I mostly agree. However, a correction curve for the center speaker if it's behind a perforated screen is a clear exception and would be a valuable feature. For example, the roll off curve of the Stewart microperf is known and corrections for a range of distances behind the screen would be easy to implement. Someone should ask M about this.

I second Robert's question about being able to deselect DSP modes in the setup. I'm never going to use Ambisonic or PL IIx Movie THX EZ, and reducing the number of operational options would significantly increase the WAF.

Hi Guys
Three issues:
1. Full and comprehensive explanations of bass management on the website. Asked about this before, but nothing done about it yet.
2. I second odyssey's suggestion about centre profiles to compensate for perforated screens. Will be a live issue for me in due course.
3. G68 firmware profiles made available optimised to each of the DSP speakers. I suspect that the new voicing of the G kit is rather more suited to 5.5ks than my 6ks.
Cheers
George
PS
4. Improvements to MRC assessment of the room, and how the sub channel is measured...it invariable does the full three runs only to accept the data anyway. What is it looking for? Is the system not set up to respond to a sub channel, in that it won't measure like a full spectrum channel?

I second the odyssey's comments as I have the same issue with a perfed stewart screen.
USB would be a big help when running MRC profiles, seems like the longest part of the operation is the upload. Anyone know what speed the serial connection is running at currently?

Will there be a G04 tuner with digital outputs ?
Or is the demand for stand alone tuners now too small, and that's why there's an integrated module in the G9x units ?
Regards
Mark
