Hi Tim,
I was having some issues connecting to an HD621 with my USB to RS232 cable (it worked fine with my G91 and C61). My cable was an unbranded one from eBay.
Meridian Technical recommended the Keyspan one. I'm not sure which chipset it uses but it should connect to all the Meridian kit without issue.
