Just curious if the SE upgrade kits (8000, 7200, 5200) have started shipping yet, and if any dealers have yet completed?

Special Edition Upgrades will be available for purchase 4 to 6 months after the launch of the Special Edition Loudspeakers. Meridian will announce the exact date of availability for these upgrades in due course.

I'm fairly sure I read that they were now available, can't find the post though.

Correct: Meridian changed their mind on this and the upgrades are already beginning to come through the chain. Rick had SE-upgraded speakers in his multi-speaker demo last week, and I know someone booked in for an upgrade in a couple of weeks.

I am sure one of the dealers on here will confirm the current status. I am not too sure as I only read the initial post from M. I am yet to hear the SE speakers which is probably a good thing judging by all the positive feedback!

Yes, upgrades are now becoming available. There is some degree of backorder so best to check with your premium partner for up to date info on each model.

I'm considering upgrading my pre-speakerlink 8000's to 8000SE.

Could anyone confirm whether the upgrade would include SpeakerLink?

Love to hear from anyone that's compared 8000 vs upgraded 8000 vs 8000SE, as I have no chance to compare them here.

Thanks

Hi,

The upgrade would include SpeakerLink, however having compared 8k's that were upgraded to SE spec and factory SE's I heard a significant difference, I would strongly suggest you try to audition both variants before you make a purchasing decision.
