As I understand it EBA puts a delay on the higher frequencies so that they will arrive to the listener at the same time as the bass which is naturally delayed due to the nature of bass drivers. This results in a unified value of circa 25ms delay. Therefore with video there will be a lip sync issue of 25 ms
But this can't be solved with a video delay as VK says: video delay is virtually non-existent in consumer video processors.
But video players add a delay to the audio to sync it with the delay that they put into the video due to the processing time. Could M encourage video player makers to have an option to eliminate or reduce the audio delay so that they would be compatible with M SE speakers? Seems like a simple software option to me?
AlternatelyThane says: If you have an Oppo (bdp-103/105) you have a negative audio delay to set up to -100ms. This makes it possible to eliminate the automatic audio delay added due to the video processing (e.g., 70ms).
Does this mean that I can just buy the Oppo 103 as my video and completely solve my DVD lipsync problem?
I believe that this Oppo also has Netflix. Does this also solve the Netflix lipsync problem?
That would rap it up for me as that is the extent of my video input.
