As my old CD of Blakey's The Big Beat is copy protected (and all the tricks I could find did not allow me to get an Accurate Rip of it), I just bought the XRCD remastering.

I have no idea what technologies they claim to use, but it's far and away the best sounding remastering of that era of Blue Note I have ever heard.

(Probably like with SACD and other remasterings, it's the care taken with the basics which produces the difference, rather than any technologies or catch-phrases...)

Anyone else tried them?

Or does anyone recommend any other remasterings of this Blue Note era?
