And for those who might be interested, here is my synopsised version of why what happened to Malaysian Flight MH370 is SUCH a Mystery.

To better analogise the Geography for most readers, I make the following analogy.

Imagine a flight takes off from London with a destination to the North East, e.g. Stockholm, Sweden.

The flight flies mostly North and a little East, and just after it leaves UK Airspace [Malaysian Airspace in the real world obviously] over the North Sea... the Transponder (and its Backup are switched off).

The Transponder is the Device that tells Air Traffic Control where the Plane is; its Altitude and Flying speed, as well as several other parameters... if it's off, it can be very difficult for Ground Control to know where a Plane actually is

As the Transponder (and its backup) are such critical devices, Airplanes are designed, cabled and powered in such a way as to make the Transponder one of the very last devices to lose power in the event of a catastrophic power failure... and as both Transponders stopped working, and the plane continued flying, the only logical conclusion that experts can come to is that they were Switched off manually by the pilots.

Just after the Transponder was no longer powered or transmitting, the plane turned left (West) and flew for 45-60 minutes out over the Atlantic.

It then turned almost due South and a little West.

The Plane then flew for another SEVEN (not a misprint) hours.

The flight flew for about 7-8 hours after the Transponders were off... and there was Zero Voice, Text or any kind of communication with the flight.

And the authorities are now looking for the downed flight in an area about 2 hours flying time South and West of the Canary Islands, off the west coast of Africa.

In other words, they believe the plane probably crashed literally THOUSANDS of miles away from where it took off and even further from its destination.

Experts now also believe that there were several occasions when the plane lost a huge amount of flying height, almost to sea level, before recovering to a more 'normal' ~30,000ft cruising flying altitude.

Experts maintain that just about everything about the whole flight and likely crash landing are very, very strange... and borderline impossible to explain without the Black Box recorders.

Conspiracy Theorists will have (and are already having) an absolute field day with this.
