Thanks for posting this review. Apart from so much of interest I noted the comment on the new tweeters: "A new beryllium-dome tweeter. "In order to achieve all aspects of higher resolution, we had to design a speaker that works as well as a microphone," says Stuart. "Beryllium doesn't ring. We're lucky to have it. It's very low on the Atomic Table, and works much better than either soft-dome or diamond tweeters."
This is in contrast to Sonus Faber with their new Extremas where both drivers are beryllium but the tweeter also has an additional diamond coating.
"Full implementation of Meridian's patented proprietary Extended Bass Alignment (EBA) technology. Now available as a software update to some of Meridian's other loudspeakers, EBA comes standard on all three Special Edition models."
So the claim is that FULL implementation is available to non-SE speakers i.e. not the version available for the 7k2.2. Not only is this the first time we have had this confirmed for a while but it also clearly states that it is available now.

My understanding is that EBA is EBA. i.e. The SEs' EBA is the same as the 7200.2's EBA.

Not sure how clear this is really. I was wondering about "EBA2", it being thought to be timing by each driver so I checked Bob's comments at CEDIA 2013, he said EBA "realigns all the frequencies", "low notes high notes and mid notes". So I'm wondering what EBA2 is (and not expecting to be told). It is very effective on my set up for my ears, so -happy (happier with a full roll out though).
I think it has had a new power supply as well, only cosmetic changes though, the coils are mounted on a platform internally rather than bolted through the back broad (where bolts were visible).
I understand Meridian make changes on the go, generally minor (major ones being denoted by serial number subset changes). Clearly it will be some time but the improvements in the SEs must filter down eventually.
EBA delays all frequencies so that they time align. It always has.

Is that statement from Meridian? My understanding was that it time aligned the bass only on non SE speakers, part of the SE upgrade was to increase the DSP processing power to allow for the EBA to able to time align all frequencies, certainly that is what I got from talking to Paul and Chris at the recent demonstrations, maybe I got it wrong... it wouldn't be the first time

I got the same info from Chris at Bristol. The SEs effectively have EBA2.
