Thanks Paul, very responsive. In the same vein but a little ahead of the game, can you tell us how you are going to differentiate between 7200v1 and v2 when it comes to upgrading to SEs?
v2 owners having chipped in an extra 2.5k (with the centre). Its a great upgrade by the way but having any residual value wiped out feels wrong.

Tintin, 7200.2 users enjoyed a better clarity thanks to the .2 upgrade we paid for. I upgraded my HC and think it was worth the expenditure.
Nothing from that upgrade is reused in the SE's. So there is obviously no value derived from that upgrade, except that you can move on the parts to someone who would like ".2" upgrade on the used market.
DSP8000SE, DSP7200SEHC, DSP5200SE sides, DSP7200SE rears, 861v8, 210, Sim2 Ultranero 4, Stewart Cinecurve 2.35:1, XEIT CM-5E Anamorphic lens, Dune HD Duo Cinema 8K and Wireworld Platinum 48G HDMI -> UHD722 -> Shunyata Omega Ethernet. Shunyata/Furutech power-cables/filters. SR Master Fuse@861v8. Uptone Etherregen with 10MHz OCXO clock.

Thanks. I thought the latest was that old boards went back as part of the upgrade, hence the disparity. If we're keeping the innards then fair enough (in which case any 7200.1 owners want a cheap upgrade- PM me ).
I was going on the following/seeking clarification.
"To be confirmed, but I'm expecting the removed electronics and tweeters will go back to Meridian.
Rick"
I can't see why Meridian can't let us know what's what, it would help decision making, I'm just about to make one...

I would have thought the difference between upgrading a 7200.1 and 7200.2 to SE status would be a matter of negotiation with the dealer. Having just bought a 7200.2 or having just upgraded a .1 to .2 you're going to have a lot more leverage on the discount of the SE upgrade than someone coming with a "plain" 7200.1.

Yes, it would be nice to know whether the boards go back as part of the upgrade. Simple clarification required!

I heard the 5200SE, 7200SE and 8000SE at Meridian West London last month and - price no object - the 5200SE were the ones I liked best. I thought they were truly special Caveat: the 8KSE were is a room that didn't suit them. But the 7.2KSE and 5.2KSE were in the same room and both had room to breathe. (Another) Duncan
