Phew! My 5K2 are 2-series so it looks like I don't need to worry anymore about how I justify an upgrade to SHMBO.
Moving forward I wonder what the effect of the 5K2SE will be on 7K2 resale value?

Can I please confirm that cost of upgrade of 7.2k's are the same whether they are the original version or the .2's?

Ian, .2 upgrade contains no reusable parts for the SE upgrade.
DSP8000SE, DSP7200SEHC, DSP5200SE sides, DSP7200SE rears, 861v8, 210, Sim2 Ultranero 4, Stewart Cinecurve 2.35:1, XEIT CM-5E Anamorphic lens, Dune HD Duo Cinema 8K and Wireworld Platinum 48G HDMI -> UHD722 -> Shunyata Omega Ethernet. Shunyata/Furutech power-cables/filters. SR Master Fuse@861v8. Uptone Etherregen with 10MHz OCXO clock.

Any idea if the newer inwall DSP's will be getting upgraded or updated.
Primary: MD600, MS200 (SpeakerLink to AES), Trinnov ST-2, Ayre V6-xe, Salk SS8 3x LRC.
Secondary: MC600 (whole house).
Zone one: 568.2, G57, MS200, Spatial Hologram M2SE.
Zone 2-6 (Awaiting assignment).

No known plans to have the in walls, DSP3200, DSP3300 or M6's upgraded to SEs.

How about the tonal match of a 5200SE with a DSP3100 ?
I find the price very high for an upgrade, this is almost as much what my 5200's cost few years back. Must be inflation I guess.
Nevermind i have the first version with speakerlink, not upgradable anyway.
