Did you find out anything about the new electronics?

Why is some information confidential? If it was given to you why can't it be shared?

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that made the effort to visit Bristol over the weekend.

A big shout also to the Meridian contingent of Paul, Chris and Richard, who are always great guys to have a chat with.

We have all been blown away by the improvements made to the SE loudspeakers and very much look forward to receiving the demo stock.

Numbers were down on the Saturday as Roger mentioned but Sunday was much busier which balanced the weekend nicely.

Thanks also for the positive comments that have bean posted and we look forward to hosting the event again next year.

Kind regards,

Richard and all the Sevenoaks team.

Any comments from those who heard the 7200.2 vs 7200se AB?

Well the thing about the electronics is that absolutely everything is new, so if you're upgrading then the whole lot gets swapped out. The other thing I recall Richard mentioning was that there are now effectively two DSPs where there used to be one - I can't recall the details, not accurately at least, but there is a whole lot more processing going on now.

On reflection I wish I hadn't mentioned anything about confidentiality, it was an unnecessary comment and I'm certainly not privy to any earth shattering information. That said, the reason for any information being confidential is that the parties to it, for whatever reason, don't wish that knowledge to become public. Therefore, the reason for not sharing information given/received in confidence is, I hope, obvious.

Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone who was involved in running this event - Richard Paskey and team, Richard H, Paul, Chris, John Buchanan et al. For me it really was very informative and a great demonstration of how Meridian and their Premium Partners work together to support the brand and its customers.

Managed to get there Saturday, great to see Paul again and meet John, Chris & Richard from Meridian. Quite emotional hearing Johnny Cash's voice through all, but the 8k's in the theatre seemed like the end of the line for what we can do with music repro, esp voice isolation & emotion Paul smiled & said watch this space! All upgrades were exquisite and am already working on the wife. Can't wait to audition 5200SE in my home. Even Paul used the Cash album (American 1V esp tracks 1 & 6) which I'd brought, for the rest of the weekend!
Get auditioning!

Yes Nick, I've collected everything on Cash since I was 12 which is 52 years ago & while my favourites are his iconic concept albums along of course with the SUN years, I cannot recommend highly enough if listeners out there have never heard his version of "First time ever I saw your face" on the American 4 album to do so. It is an experience through the 5200's the 7200's & the 8 k's and also through my electrostatic Stax ear speakers. I've not heard any other single track capture emotion & play it back the way the SE's did. You can get it on Rhapsody so there's no excuse. I'd be interested in any comments if anyone tries it
Regards to all
Alex

I listened to it this morning but not through my 5200s. The boss complained about listening to Johnny Cash over breakfast.

I see what you mean; great track, really authentic. Can't wait to listen to the album on the big speakers. Thanks!
