The dBpoweramp plug in failure is an issue for me too.
I was at Bristol SSAV yesterday and I took the opportunity to raise this with Paul Webb, John Buchanan and Richard Hollinshead. One of them, I can't recall who, was aware there might be a problem but after I mentioned it they said they'd bring it up at their next quality review meeting - held weekly I believe.
I mentioned it again later to Richard - he didn't seem to think it would be too difficult to resolve. Without knowing what the problem is I wish I had his confidence. Then again, I'm not an audio tech' guru. Richard most definitely is. Isn't it indicative of how M treats/thinks of Sooloos when they say "there might be a problem" with the dBpoweramp plug-in? How could they not know???

I don't often post but lately I have been increasingly dissatisfied with my decision to buy into Meridian and this seems to be a prime example of why.
Meridian are aware of this issue. An issue it seems, albeit perhaps just from my frustration rather than fact, has left the plugin unusable more than it has been usable since it was released.
Meridian should have been aware of this issue from this forum and they have been notified of the issue by dBpoweramp themselves, who have yet to receive a response, who with what little they have contributed have managed more than Meridian have themselves. This simple fact speaks volumes I feel.
I was also under the impression, and please correct me if I am wrong, that prominent members of this forum have also raised this issue with Meridian themselves. For a Meridian representative to suggest that there merely might be a problem as opposed to there actually is a problem would indicate that at best Meridian have communication problems and at worst, well perhaps I shouldn't go there. I think, perhaps unfairly, that this is a poor reflection on the relationship between this forum and Meridian.
Plugin issues aside, as this plugin wasn't even on my radar when I purchased into the Sooloos ecosystem, I guess why this issue bothers me so much is that at least from my perspective the plugin circumvented the issue overriding metadata on import. This is a feature that was part of Sooloos when I purchased it and as best I can tell has never worked not only for me but a significant number of others.
As an aside I feel myself increasingly agreeing with 3dit0r and increasingly concerned over the responses that he has been getting which largely strike me as overly defensive of Meridian and needlessly hostile in intent. This attitude I am sad to say is perhaps why I choose not to post more often which is a shame. However I will not mention it further here as it is probably best left to another thread.
Cheers,
Tony.

Hi,
We have discussed this issue with Meridian support, we will come back to up you once we know further details.
The issue of database integration can be complex and it may be that something has changed within Rovi/AMG however that is speculative and would not like to comment more.
It is worth noting that Meridian do not frequent here all the time, so if you do have issues feel free to make contact with us or the support address at Meridian at least it will land on a desk and be dealt with and pushed on to the right people.
Regards Edd

Thanks for lending your support on this issue. I raised it with my premium partner on 20 January (who raised it with Meridian shortly afterwards) and from the postings in this thread it has also been raised with Meridian by Southampton Phase 3 and dBpoweramp themselves. Hopefully it is working its way up someone's list and will get fixed shortly.

Not quite sure who you are asking as apparently Meridian do not monitor this board frequently.
However, I wouldn't really hold your breath on this one given the apathy to accept that there may even be a problem in the first place.
In any case this plugin is increasingly irrelevant as new dBpoweramp purchasers move to R15. I doubt with Meridian's track record that we can expect a 64bit version of this plugin anytime soon. Of course you could override the default install and use the 32bit version of R15 but without a working plugin I can't test to see if that actually works properly!
Sadly without this or a way to prefer local metadata there doesn't seem to be a way to be able to rip and edit the metdata only once and use the resultant file to import both to Sooloos and for other streaming systems.
Cheers, Tony

I was asking to see if any other HH knew, or a PP, many of whom monitor even if Meridian HQ don't Thanks for confirming it's still down. Sorry but I don't understand what R15 is? I was ripping a bunch of CDs yesterday and most of them ripped fine and it was only the XML which failed at the end, necessitating manual import, but then I had one which failed every track looking up AMG. Looking back at the start of the thread though this is what was happening intermittently. I think Meridian are working on it though, and I'm not putting the blame completely in their corner for this one - they can't control whether AMG decide to do something random, or dBpa, only react to try and fix it after the fact. I wonder why writing the XML file which allows Sooloos restore is AMG dependent, though?

Contrary to what seems to be mentioned above I just tried the XML plugin (which I don't usually use) and it works. Albums restored OK. The only issue I saw as Track #1 failed to get AMG data BUT the meta tags all look fine.

I think you'll find there is no audio data and it won't play, but please confirm.
