Hi Duncan,
Yes the WF2SL will work, although it's not an 'officially' supported way of making the connection.
Cheers,
Rick

Hi,
Unfortunately vMSR won't work with an AC200. There's no RS232 connection, and the USB is only for firmware upload, not control.

Yes, I have a 1st gen Pi with 256MB. I could retire this to IP2SL duties and replace with a 512MB version, win-win!

It would be amazing if Meridian would support the vMSR in the Core Control iPad App for volume and source selection from the iPad. Do I really have to upgrade to a G series controller just for that?

Why do you feel you would have to upgrade? The vMSR will work with your 568.

Ian - did you manage to get the R-pi working instead of the IP2SL? Duncan

Not yet. I ended buying a second Pi for dev work but then got side tracked.
I'm pretty sure that it will work and be reliable though as I'm running a variant for logging my home power use and solar generation from a serial based data logger and that's been running 24/7 since end january.
Wifi might be an issue (compared with hardwired ethernet) though as I had a few issues running my logger over wifi causing Pi to lock up every few days and suspect marginal power availability under certain conditions (high CPU) when running wifi dongle and USB/serial converter without an externally powered USB hub.
Meridian owner since 1992 Prime & PSU, Focal Elear headphones, Roon (ROCK 8Gi5 NUC), Explorer 1 & 2, F80. 200/203, various Sonos (via Roon).

A couple of questions:
1. If powering from USB, are you using a conversion cable (I don't see a USB port on the images online)?
2. Is anyone also controlling devices without RS232, such as cable boxes and TV's. If so, did you buy an IP2IR as well, or is there a smarter solution I'm missing?
Cheers, Ian

Why do you feel you would have to upgrade? The vMSR will work with your 568. Hey Carl, I thought the 568.2mm wasn't compatible with the Sooloos MC200 for volume, channel switching, and mute. But it turned out all I needed was a SpeakerLink cable to BNC to get the MC200 onto the Meridian Comms via my HD621. So I now have two apps that control my Meridian system. vMSR for general use for most sources. Core Control for listening to my Sooloos music library.

Hi,
I'm thinking of using the vMSR to control DSP33s with Apple TV as source in conservatory, using iPad as controller. Will this work has anyone tried and what would results be like?

I'm using vMSR with a pair of DSP33s for my 2.1 desktop system.
Works great. I'd go DSP3k1s by preference for the IR and display capability but appreciate they're more expensive.
What audio outputs has the Apple TV got? I thought it was optical out only?
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.
