If they've been around for 25 years then I've been onboard for more than half of that; bought my DSP5000s new in 1998 I think.
Cinema: Meridian 271, 3 x DSP640 (behind screen), 4 x DSP320 (in-ceiling), 4 x DSP3100 (surrounds), 2 x AC12 (interface). 2 x Perlisten D12s subs, Lyngdorf MP40 processor. DT 145" 2.35 AT screen. Sony VW870 projector & S-T lens, Lumagen Radiance Pro. Lounge: Roon, NUC, Kef LS50 Wireless + 2 x REL Gibraltar-2 subs

It doesn't look like many companies make Beryllium tweeters. I could find only Scanspeak (a company that Meridian have used before). Scanspeak Beryllium tweeters go for around 600-700 /pair. I think this would result in a substantial increase in the cost of the new speakers or any upgrades.

I wonder how many beryllium drivers you could find for diy. Beryllium isn't real friendly stuff, so I imagine that there might be some hesitancy to sell to the diy crowd.
That said, years ago, there was a controversy with Usher speakers and whether they really used beryllium in their speakers drivers, suggesting that the material used was barely beryllium and that its as much marketing as it is, sonic performance.
I really don't know, just that I wouldn't get too hung up on it being beryllium.
Primary: MD600, MS200 (SpeakerLink to AES), Trinnov ST-2, Ayre V6-xe, Salk SS8 3x LRC. Secondary: MC600 (whole house). Zone one: 568.2, G57, MS200, Spatial Hologram M2SE. Zone 2-6 (Awaiting assignment).

The Scanspeak ones are pretty much pure Beryllium (99%). They come with a safety sheet Some links to them: D2908-714000 D3004-664000 Safety SheetTim

A few choice quotes from the safety sheet: "If the material is involved in a fire; pressure-demand self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing must be worn by persons potentially exposed to the airborne particulate during or after a fire." "If breathing has stopped, perform artificial respiration and obtain medical help." "Induce vomiting immediately as directed by medical personnel." "There is no known treatment which will cure chronic beryllium disease." Are you sure you want this upgrade...?
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

Isn't using Beryllium in a tweeter old hat, launched by JM Lab already in 2002 or so?

Agree Ludwig, they are desirable, luckily for me, I have hearing threshold also to the well known 20KHz or even below (my guess is more like 16/17KHz). So I can stick with what is used in the studio, rather Aluminum or Titanium

What does this mean?
"New DSP including Meridians unique EBA"
"including", does that mean there is more new DSP or am I just being literal?

On the grand scheme of things it's another step forward for M!
I'm also sure that even if the 'upgrades' are not available to all DSP models (or any) that the new technology is eventually going to trickle down the DSP range in forthcoming years...
Kind regards David

Be - fever! It also look quite shallow depthwise which could mean no additional drilling necessary?
