Surprised to see some people stating black aluminium components look cheap. My rack has Meridian, Oppo, Denon, Microsoft and Sky equipment on it. All items are black and blend in perfectly, from 6ft plus you would not know they came from 5 different manufacturers. My black 557's are a different black vs. my 861 which in turn is different vs. my G98 but you'd be hard pushed to tell.
If they were silver (and they all have silver options) I think they would look a mess with so many different shades.
Meridian's silver is classy looking so I am sure a rack of only Meridian equipment would look fine but I am sure most of us have many different manufacturers box's on display.
861, G98, 568.2, DSP5K, SVS PC 13 Ultra, Pioneer KRP600, LG 77CX, BDI 3379.

I have silver G series components, which the silver MD600 matches nicely. The HD621, however, not so much.
Cheers, Ian
