I have two systems which I'm wondering about the benefits of adding a Prime Power Supply.
One is an AC200 and MS200 which both could be powered by one into a Reviver and legacy 5k2 system. At present the MS200 is powered by the AC200 via SL.
The other is a desktop system with Halide Bridge fed by an iMac and potentially a spare MS200 into DSP33s and D1500,
I appreciate few Prime Power Supplies are in the wild, and since M haven't offered me a trial, I wondered whether fellow HHers could voice their (albeit uneared) opinions as to what benefits there might be with either system.
My thanks as always.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

... and since M haven't offered me a trial Only your ears with your system can decide. Have you asked your dealer for a home demo? Regards, Carl

Quite, Carl.
I was just trying to gauge whether there was anything about my set up that people felt made it a non starter (particularly the Halide Bridge) to ask for a home demo.
I wouldn't be thinking about it unless it benefited at least two components in the same system, which the PS seems to.

I reckon it has to be a candidate in the AC200/MS200 system - haven't heard it, though, so I'm only speaking theoretically! Sure a friendly dealer will be able to give you a home dem when units are available - fascinated to hear your thoughts if you do this!

That's an interesting thought... shame it would be three disparate boxes though!

Has anyone meanwhile taken time to compare a MS200 supercharged with a Prime PSU to the walwart PSU in an all digital SpeakerLink system?
M advertises it enhances the performance but I am curious if it will bring it up to, or surpasses MS600 level. I would also expect that a linear PSU would benefit the SQ of the MS600 similar it does to the 800 series.
Thank you for your insight or thoughts. Cheers, Jaap Jan

My Prime PS will hopefully arrive this weekend, so I'll try and give you my thoughts some time next week.

PrimePS has arrived. It's small but perfectly formed. It comes with a single 12V cable, so I'm going to need at least one more, as well as a USB cable (type A to mini).
Given I'm currently powering my MS200 via SL from the AC200, it's not clear what would happen if I should try and power the MS200 using the PrimePS directly if it's already powered by the AC200.
I won't have a chance to properly listen until Monday. It will also be interesting to see how the Halide Bridge performs.
Oh, and it comes with a 15% HDTracks discount code.

You mean when MS200 is connected to AC whether to connect the AC to Prime, MS to Prime or both to Prime? Interesting to test this.
I notice that my DSP powers the MS200 but unsufficiently to last, it therefore needs the walwart but I am sure it now gets 2 mixed energy streams, I guess it has an effect. But due to the SMPs walwart not a positive effect...
Reading most info about linear PSU, it is all about low noise, no ripple voltage and availabilty/speed. Any possibility to measure the Prime noise? Naim and Pardo publish it (best measured outcome of course), nice to compare.
Cheers

No apparent problem here with my DSP3200's powering MS200, though I recall Rick saying that some earlier SpeakerLink DSP's may not do it properly as such a thing hadn't been envisaged initially.

It'll be an interesting comparison, if you can ensure that the MS200 is powered only from the PS and not the SL too.
I'd expect the power suppy in a DSP to be very good anyway, so I wouldn't expect a whole load of difference (except maybe isolation from the other components in the speaker). You never know, though.
With the AC200 - does that have a SMPS, or linear?
