Seems like a headphone plug. That said, it could be a zone control. Allowing volume control of a zone without relying on an iPad.

Meridian must have left the analogue volume control off the Director for a reason, best guess is that this is it.

I'm guessing all the HDMI connectors are on the back...

Very Nice to see that is a G series design.

I hope that the would build a DAC with this design. And also with balanced outputs.

Hope to see the specs soon.

DAC/pre, with headphone amp, G series styling, but in an AC200 sized box.

essentially a director with multiple digital inputs, in a 1/2 width component box.

Definitely looks like a headphone amp, and probably has a built-in DAC. But if Meridian really wants to impress me, they'd include the following features:

-- apodizing filters (likely)
-- treble, bass, stereo width and polarity controls
-- both analog and SpeakerLink output

At the same time, Meridian should release an entry level DSP loudspeaker (DSP200, perhaps), designed specifically for nearfield desktop listening.

I've said it before but it's worth repeating, a G Series "Oppo" with a built-in HD621.

Bluray is pretty big business and appears to be here to stay.

Cinema: Meridian 271, 3 x DSP640 (behind screen), 4 x DSP320 (in-ceiling), 4 x DSP3100 (surrounds), 2 x AC12 (interface). 2 x Perlisten D12s subs, Lyngdorf MP40 processor. DT 145" 2.35 AT screen. Sony VW870 projector & S-T lens, Lumagen Radiance Pro.
Lounge: Roon, NUC, Kef LS50 Wireless + 2 x REL Gibraltar-2 subs
