Apart from the Oppo, I spot a MacBook Air (or Pro, hard to see exactly) and an Apple TV, a Wii and a PS3 (or 4?).

I fail to see what is so exciting here.
Basically what you have here is a G61R, with balanced cards taken from the G68. And a slightly modified input card, where they have replaced the MHR connector for a MMHR connector (basically just that, because it is still 6 channels). And 2 SpeakerLink input added.
G68J, HD621, ...

I fail to see what is so exciting here. Well, it's a better, improved G61R. What's not to like about that? Just need a G Series Oppo to go with it, and a G Series-styled HD621.

don't forget the linear power supply. And better clocking/lower jitter.

I fail to see what is so exciting here... I think it's the fact that they've invested in upgrading the G series at all basically. Just a pity that it doesn't get 7.1 MMHR (or 7.1 analogue input, which you can get on something 1/20th of the price).

Agreed, I love the 500 series. I think the 800 series is ugly. G series between the two.

And better clocking/lower jitter. Without doubt this will improve the SQ, imaging etc. Apart from anything else, this would be a critical feature for me- it will sound (a lot) better, isn't that what we're here for?

If the new clocking etc. does the same kind of job/improvement that was found in the v6-v8 upgrade then I would wager it will sound better. Put that with the LPS and it's even more likely. PP need to shout as soon as demo units get to store. Failing that we'll have to have a listen at MWL's champagne and caviar boutique launch

Yes, it's a fair bet that the both the analogue and SpeakerLink output sections of the G65 outperform those of the G61 and G68 considerably.

Yes, it's a fair bet that the both the analogue and SpeakerLink output sections of the G65 outperform those of the G61 and G68 considerably. Isn't that a bit presumptuous? I've forgotten how many times I've read about the "latest and greatest" killing last years whatever. Hardly as though the old gear was bad, so my assumption is that it's more likely to be a subtle improvement.
