Oblivion, thanks for the reviews. I've just order it. Let us know what you think Carl! It only gets a 7 on IMDb but I think it's a lot better than that (IMHO).

To give you an idea of the quality of the visuals in Oblivion..... We are about to order a new kitchen for our place out here & part way through Oblivion my better half shouted across to me (she has to shout as I have the volume so high ) "Let's forget the new kitchen and travel to some of the places where this was filmed". Any film which motivates a woman to give up on a new kitchen must speak powerfully.

Here's another recommendation from me; Mud. Just seen it & it's a kind of bittersweet film with fine performances all round, a keeps-you-guessing storyline and really nice cinematography. Highly recommended.

Oblivion does indeed have impressive FX. However, I'm not sure that I would put it on a list of recommended movies. Am I the only one who found it derivative of Moon, "V" and countless other SF films? One question remains with me. Was the Tet organically alive or AI? If it was AI then why would it want water?

Perhaps water is required to make semiconductors Why is the Sun dying in Sunshine? Because it is required for the plot!
