I'm having the following problem with DSP Setting on my 561.
1. Cannot retain THX preset setting. Each time input is switched and return, it does not remember the THX preset setting. Does anyone knows how to make it remember the THX setting.
2. In the middle of viewing a Bluray, DTS bitstream, it would reset itself. The processor appeared to drop and regain signal. Happen on 2 movies now, so I'm thinking this more than a cooincident that the content has some bad audio stream. Has anyone seen this?
My firmware is at the latest 1.77.

After you have selected the chosen DSP, press the Store button on the front of the 561 and wait a couple of seconds. It should respond with a display that says something like Source=DSP, where Source is your selected source at the time and DSP likewise.
In the spirit of Spinaltap, I would like to confirm that I am not involved in the corrupt theft of a global sport.

As mentioned above, you have to tell the 561 what it's default surround mode is; even if you change the mode, selecting that source will default back to that mode.
You can do this in the config programme.
You can have two (or more) defaults for the same input by setting up phantom inputs; use a separate source button and set it to the same physical input; again, this can be set in the config programme.
If you have a flaky source and the 561 loses sync on the digital stream, it can go back to the default surround mode when sync is restored; this happens on my 568.
All the best,
Steve
