Easy guys, it was only a suggestion - I thought that's what this thread was for! If Meridian don't like it, or think it's of any value, they simply have to ignore it...
In any case, even if the Trifield idea is a bad one, for various reasons, I've been wanting a good DRC solution for 2-channel waaaay before I started down the Meridian route. I definitely think that has value and don't see why it's inherently connected with multichannel capabilities/movies, etc.?
People are already using various third party solutions for 2-ch RC (see Rodney's thread, for example) and Meridian might make some money out of offering their own package, whether that's internal to something like the 818, OR a little external processor which sits between that, or legacy 2-ch gear, older processors, etc. and adds MRC in some form while understanding things like MHR/Apodizing, and not messing up all the hard work that's gone into the signal through their equipment beforehand. Think of it possibly like a sort of HD621 but for MRC?
In fact, I think I like that better than my original suggestion

it could also really appeal to 3rd party DAC owners who wish to take advantage of 'good' DRC in the form of MRC.
