Mine is an iPad 2.5 and I have not noticed any discernible differences so far, but I only used once with OS7, which on the other hand IMHO is the worst thing Apple has ever produced. Infantile, slow and so far as I can see not a shred of benefit. Regards Huw

I have found my iPad 3 less responsive since upgrading to OS7 which is really frustrating. I may be a little cynical but I can't help believe it's an attempt to make people purchase the new iPads!!!
A little like each new MS windows needing more RAM, faster processor, larger HDD etc.
I wish I could revert to my previous OS as my iPad was significantly more responsive.

I was afraid of this (the iOS 5 "upgrade" crippled my user experience on the original iPad) and held back in the hope that iOS 7.1 sorts out the sluggishness issues. I'm not holding my breath though.
It's pretty outrageous given that, in at least one place, I've seen Apple group both iPad 3 and 4 together as the "iPad with Retina display" (i.e. the current model in the singular).

I'm using a gen 4 iPad with iOS 7 and I've noticed that the Play/Pause and Fwd/Back controls bottom left and the volume controls bottom right disappear after a while. Looks like this happens after I've switched to another application temporarily. The Core Control app still has the play queue, the Focus I had set and is tracking with whatever track is playing.
I have not experienced this before with iOS 6 on the same iPad. Is anyone else seeing this?
Sergio Yep, this happened to me as well after the update.

It happened to me as well last night. I properly closed the app and re started it to fix. The music never stopped playing though. Chris

Occasionally, when I hit the search button, the dialog box slides down but nothing is rendered inside and the keyboard doesn't pop up.
A reboot of the app and it's fine again.
I don't actually use the search function that much so not sure if it happens more for heavier users?
Cheers Greg

At least the app is faring rather better than Naim's NStream (which I also run). Hopefully the fix for that is imminent. Mind you, I've had lots of 'buggy' behaviour on my iPhone since the update. It wouldn't surprise me if a further iOS tweak isn't far away

After about a week's worth of additional use, I've concluded that the Core Control app on iOS 7 is below par. Controls disappear, focus disappears, search function doesn't work. Not occasionally. All the time (Three times already just while typing this post).
I've also experienced some odd behavior with the Rhapsody integration that I haven't seen before: core control thinks a track is in my library (I can remove it via the rhapsody menus) but I can't find it in my library. More experimentation is needed to see whether this is related to certain albums only or a more general problem. I doubt this is caused by the iOS 7 upgrade, but I've seen stranger things in my days.
I also think it's time to have proper Retina display support. This display was introduced in March 2012 if I'm not mistaken. And yet the UI elements in the app appear pixelated 1.5 years later. The last update to Core Control was released May 18, 2012.
Sure, QNAP support (though only relevant for windows users?), decked out Range Rovers and McLarens, Explorer and Director DACs are all nice developments. But, the reason I invested in Meridian besides the sound is that Meridian was at the forefront of the computer audio/streaming/digital music evolution with its user experience and integration. I want to believe they are still leading and have great things cooking in the lab. If so, please hurry up, because I'm losing faith.

Hi,
One should buy Meridian (or anything really) for what it is not what it might become.
Do remember that it is Apple that have moved the playing field not Meridian. I'm sure Meridian will address however being a small firm they must be prudent where resources are allocated. Meridian know the UI and UE are very important.
Don't lose faith, just play the music and enjoy.
Regards, Carl

Please don't fool yourself, M was never at the forefront of computer audio/streaming. They bought Sooloos 6 or 7 years ago to enter into the arena and then did nothing with it for years (Other than the apps, some hardware revisions, and a name change). To be at the front, you need audiophile interfaces for all systems, DSD, best metadata, apps that work flawlessly, a great dealer network, etc. and M hasn't got it.
