Just a simple recommendation to all music lovers out there.

A band that has existed for a while but is just starting to get some well deserved publicity and chart success.

Band is London Grammar, album is 'If You Wait', recently released. I have the 2 CD version and I have to say every track is fantastic and the voice of the young lady is truly amazing! There aren't many albums that come along like this. BEAUTIFUL music, truly mesmerising. Such talent, that voice.

Do have a listen, see if you like (BTW, I have no connection to the band what-so-ever).

Enjoy...

Have to agree, delightful.

If there's anybody interested, qobuz offer 24bit 44kHz.

Always ready to try new music but I'm a bit confused why the 'study master' costs less than the CD 'lossless' version

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.

Anathema s new live show ' Universal ' is an interesting featuring their most popular works from the last couple of albums , We're Here because We're Here ' and 'Weather Systems' . The lovely Lee Douglas' vocals make some of the eg. 'Everything' .

Listed as progrock it's actually a bit lighter than that but worthy nonetheless

By chance came across Cash and Dylan singing Girl from the North Country from Nashville Skyline. Beautiful; Cash is stunning. Terrific recording.

Just picked up Music of Spain, the Julian Bream Edition. Recorded in 1980 on RCA Gold Seal it is another example discussed in another thread of a plain old redbook CD sounding fabulous. Bream is, as you would expect, simply great.

The latest tale from The little rabbit barn This morning I played some Sonny Terry and brownie McGhee. Amazing harmonica, stil influential today.
Imagine my surprise in seeing Trina Hamlin play with Annie Keating
Her harmonica playing was sensational.....
The whole evening was just so special as it always is at The little rabbit barn.
I am so fortunate to live so close to an amazing venue.
Look out for these performers as well as a young singer songwriter guitarist called Freya Roy
She was really special and has a great future.
That's it for my ramblings, Chris smile

Hi Chris,

You lucky guy a surprise "One Night Stand" with the fabulous Trina Hamlin. I should never have mentioned Little Rabbit Barn to you. It just makes me jealous every time you post.

You ain't seen nothing yet... lol I will go every time now.
We had a chat with Trina and Annie and they signed CD's for us. Already scanned into Sooloos.
Have to say her look reminds me of Alan Davies (Qi) lol not meant as an insult though.

Just a magnificent talent and a privilege to see close up.
Thanks for the heads up.

As I can see the Little Rabbit Barn venue discussion runing and runing (just like a rabbit!) so I've moved it to its own thread.

Regards,
Carl

Lucia Micarelli - Music From a Farther Room.

She's the lady from the Sky Atlantic series Treme who plays the violin. The album covers a broad range of musical genres including Sibelius (excerpt from the violin concerto) David Bowie, Queen and the Newfoundlander folk tune "She is Like the Swallow". I've almost got it on repeat play.

Also from Treme may I suggest:

The Eminent Jay Jay Johnson, Vols 1 and 2
Sonny Landreth - From the Reach
