Sorry, but I'm just trying to set up dBpa to multi-encode with the Meridian plugin and a simultaneous rip to ALAC for iTunes, but I usually have the HDCD DSP active and I'm getting a little confused.
How do I apply the Meridian DSP only to the FLAC copy to be placed in a Sooloos backup folder, and not the iTunes ALAC encoding? And do I need to order the HDCD encoding to happen first somehow?
Does it need to be dynamically named for either/both of these? Since I don't yet have a Sooloos backup, is there any particular way I should name this, or place I should put the folder?
Thanks.

Read my post above again #194893
Add the XML plugin to the FLAC encoder DSP settings. Remove it from the main DSP area of the main screen.
This will mean the XML applies that encoder only.
As long as you have the Apple encoder listed above the XML FLAC encoder it should work.
I would add the HDCD plugin to the individual encoders too...at the top of the list in each.

A picture vs 1000 words etc I used two FLAC encoders to highlight here. You could use any encoders you want as long as they are BEFORE the final FLAC XML encoder. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.meridianunplugged.com/ubbthreads/gallery/16/full/934.jpg)

Ah, brilliant!
I was getting confused as I hadn't noticed you can add the DSP settings in each encoder, rather than as a general setting.
Thank you!

Yes...that's exactly it. dBpa is really very versatile. Here is an example with Apple lossless loaded. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.meridianunplugged.com/ubbthreads/gallery/16/full/935.jpg)

That's as I have it set up now, great stuff!
It is very versatile, and powerful - I wish they'd do a Mac version!

Hi All,
I'm pretty new to the forum and Sooloos/MDMS so forgive my lack of knowledge.
I've been reading all the posts with interest as I'm at the early stages of ripping my collection and want to do it right.
I first started using the Control:PC and was happy with its ease of use. I then started to notice artwork errors... these I could replace but a particular best of CD has the tracks slighty wrong due to the limited look-up in AMG.
Yesterday I thought I'd give the dBpoweramp a look at.
Works very well and not as labour intensive as I thought. The metadata look-up is much better and so is the selectable artwork option.
I have so far loaded 50 albums using Control:PC and stopped.
As I'm about to start again using dBpoweramp I would like to use .WAV files just to try and future protect as best I can.
If I rip my CD's using dBpoweramp and select the 'RAW CD TOC' pick box (read this is important earlier in the thread) is this sufficient to then put my collection into MDMS.
I'm still a little unsure if the Meridian plugin has to be used (to create the XML) and also do they then have to be converted to FLAC.
Help/Guidance is much appreciated so I can get this right before I get any more of my collection ripped.
Darren

Is there any way in dBpa to view or edit credits?
That's one of the most important grooming functions in Control:PC for me.
I use credits a lot to follow musicians, and I remove the photographers and mixers and management assistants who clutter up the database.

Filling the Credits is also my problem with the new plugin. After restore you have to go to edit the metadata to fill in the Credits. That's awful.

Yes, all the metadata including credits come up with little check boxes to include/exclude the data. It's now really quick and easy to get rid of all of those extraneous credits for Liner Notes, tea making etc.
