I recently had to replace my SKY Router. The new one immediately worked with my Sooloos system but My Mac computer can't find the Control:Mac app.
If I try to reinstall it it says there is no Sooloos system on the network. If I put the Sooloos IP address into Safari I get a page similar to the Control:Mac app but there are no import options so I can't get to iTunes.
Have you uninstalled the Control:Mac program? If not then try doing so, then enter the IP of your Sooloos Core into the Safari browser, when the screen appears click on settings, this should prompt you to install Control:Mac.
Ensure you allow any requests for firewall access and you should hopefully be ok.
Thanks Russ, yes I've tried that many times. Can't check my firewall settings though.
I put the IP address into Safari it finds my Router ok but doesn't accept the wireless network name or the password that came with it. Tried it a few times
If I put the Sooloos IP address into Safari I get a page similar to the Control:Mac app
This page is Control:Web, so your Mac can see the Sooloos system. Try this again, but then go to the setting page and select the Control:Mac link to install it.
Note: Access Control:web using 'normal' http protocol, however Control:Mac uses multicast to identify the Sooloos kit, some routers have this disabled as standard. So after installing Control:Mac if it runs but can't find you Sooloos system, you should check your router. Also try connecting you Mac to a wired networked when using Control:Mac.
I've been going to the settings tab & clearly see the "Control:Mac" option in blue & have clicked on it many times. I then follow the install prompts but get the message in red "unable to find Sooloos system Core" followed by " please connect to a local network with an up to date Sooloos system on oreder to install Control:Mac".
My mac is wifi connected. My Router is SKY's new one, only had 1 week. Made by BskyB name of product Sky HUB SR101.
The rep who installed my Meridian system was here on Friday & hooked up to the Router by ethernet but still could not solve the problem. He left intending to research.
I decided to try the forum in case someone had same problem & knew of a fix. thanks again
Try connecting with wired connection. It should connect then Control:Mac will cache the IP address. You should then be able to disconnect wired and go back to wifi and unless IP address of core changes, the cached IP address should remain valid.
If you use core control on iPad, you will need to set up a manual IP address in the core control application settings from the main iPad settings icon.

Try a different computer to see if you can download and run Control:Mac. When I first purchased by MC200 I could not get Control:Mac to download to my computer. The download would start then just sit there.
After calls to the dealer and to Meridian's USA Sooloos guys it was determined that some hidden files were left on the computer and could not be removed in the normal process. If I created a "Test" user I could then download and run Control:Mac for that user but not for me regular Admin account. They ended up loading some ApZapper program and making sure all hidden files were showing before we could get Control Mac to download and run.
So if you previously had Control:Mac and are trying to download it again it is possible there are files hidden that are not deleted and will prevent you from running Control:Mac.

Thanks to all you guys who kindly replied. My rep did connect his PC by ethernet but it didn't work. I did update Sooloos as soon as I got the message. I will mention all your responses to my rep.
Regarding the fact that I may not have zapped all files from the delete of previous Control:Mac, when I try to download it again I get the message "no Sooloos system Core", is that feasible just because some old files might still be there.
