If true that's exactly what Meridian need to be doing - opening up new routes for customers to their dealers.

Seems to be a positive thing to me, along with the recent email addresses on Meridian's website. I think they're striking a very positive balance between the old days where any question would get a prompt reply and the recent days where it was all "speak to your dealer" ie keeping the end user at arm's length.
However well intentioned that move was it was always bound to alienate some buyers.

In further related news, Meridian has appointed the online electronics giant Crutchfield to sell the Explorer and Director. From the announcement:

If there is no dealer involvement, you might as well put them on eBay or Amazon.

Dealers have to buy them in packs of 10, maybe not enough dealers wanted them so they decided best to sell them online?
