As a long time reader this is my first post on this Forum. I had a lot of good input in planing my 2-channel-system and have to say "thank you for that"!
Im using a C15 + MS600 (analog Output) and I am very happy with handling and Sound Quality (at the moment ).
However, one day my first C15 unit showed funny Screen effects: black Areas of the Screen showed vertical green lines from the top to the bottom of the Screen. These lines appeared in the overview Screen (in dark aras of cover Images) and also in the black area of the Screensaver. The effect was not easy to reproduce - it appeared without a clear reason and resolved sometimes later.
The unit was sent to my local dealer and I think he sent it to Meridian, too. They did some "changes" but they showed no effect for me. After receiving the unit back the Problem came up again.
To finish the Long Story: I sent the unit back again and they changed it ro a new C15, transfered my Music to it and: I was told that the error occurs again!!! I was told that it must be an issue with my cover art! The images shall be too large. I ripped all my CDs with dBpa and selected images from the Internet not larger than 1000x1000 Pixels.
I was quite speachless and have to work on that Problem again.
I hope to find some information on the following topics: a) Is there an official limitation in cover art size for Sooloos C15 from Meridian (Pixel Count)? b) Is there a Limitation in colour depth for JPGs of cover art? c) Has anybody else experienced this kind of error?
I think during ripping my CDs with dBpa I chose cover art and just added it to the program - so there might be more than 1 Picture per CD... Im just guessing if that may be the Problem. I am really confused at the Moment because for me it seemed to be a clear Hardware issue.
I will try to post some photos of the Screen to demonstrate the Problem.
I hope you can give me some tips in solving the Problem - and I also hope you can excuse my poor )
Thanks so far. MLsound

As the default album art is typically 200*200 I've updated many many albums with artwork ranging from 600*600 which I consider minimum spec right up to 2000*2000 possible higher in one or two cases.
I've not seen any artefacts like you describe, If you can capture it on a photo do post it.
Hi, thanks for your fast support. I will be able to test my new C15 with the screen issue the next days. The funny thing is: it is a problem that occurs temporarily. Then you can see it on dark areas of the screen (small cover icons but also the whole screen in screensaver modus). But on other days all of the cover art is displayed correct and even screensaver works fine!!!
@Carl: I will post you a JPG that showed the problem as soon as possible. Im very curious if you can reproduce my error.
@Nick: I want to change the PDF of one affected CD into a low-res file. But all the other 800 covers have still higher resolution and would cause a lot of test work just "to try" if it depends on ONE cover art with more than lets say 500x500 points. So you see: Im not sure where to start the troubleshooting in an effective way.
kind regards MLsound

That it seems intermittent means that we must determine if it always does it on certain albums or if the intermittent behaviour is because you are playing different albums that do not possess the issue.
Intermittent behaviour means for me, that when the error occurs covers with dark areas show the error and in screensaver mode (showing the centered cover art) the dark area around the cover shows the error. During this period it makes no difference what kind of album is played. The screensaver (in minimum) shows the lines.
When the problem "gets solved" (temporarily) there is no problem with the screen. I can play albums with dark covers without problems and also the screensaver shows the correct simply "black" screen around the cover art in the middle of the screen.
Did your question go into this direction?

Just a thought, when display issues occur on laptops it is usually the connection cable to the screen that is the issue, have you tried moving the screen to see if it affects the display, the problem sounds more like a hardware issue than jpg as sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
