Russ

Thank you for the reply.
May be an option to be considered for the next version.

I'm not sure every one would want it to automatically switch to Core Control when the SLS button is selected, so a configurable option might be more desirable. Application switching could even be configured on a per source key basis.

Carl

Hi Del,

As Russ and Carl have said, the vMSR doesn't flip to Core Control.

The app has tried to remain as system independent, and while that may not be as slick as possible for particular systems, it does make it simple and straightforward.

For instance if a vMSR user doesn't have a Sooloos system then it wouldn't want to open Core Control if you pressed AUX, or what if a vMSR user has assigned Sooloos to a different source button?

If you have Core Control and vMSR open at the same time you can quickly swipe between the two apps as Russ suggests.

Cheers,

Rick

I have purchase a new iPad and downloaded the Virtual MSR application. I also bought the Global Cache IP2SL and connected it to my G68 with the null modem cable that was supplied from Meridian. When pressing a source button on the iPad virtual MSR the G68 will not turn on. However, once the G68 is turned on using the original MSR, the virtual MSR will then work to adjust the volume, change the source, etc. The virtual MSR will also switch the G68 into standby.

Any suggestions as to how to get the virtual MSR working to turn the G68 on when pressing one of the source buttons on the iPad application will be appreciated.

Ron

Hi

Do you have managed comms on? To check run vMSR and check settings, it is found in the top left just under the wifi symbol.

Cheers

I have managed comms turned off. I have also entered a static IP address which I found when the G68 was powered on with the original MSR. Everything seems to be working ok now. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi rkl2525

Really pleased it is all working, adding the static IP makes the connection when you run the app almost immediate as opposed to the delay when searching, it would be good if the Sooloos Core Control app had the same option. Sorry for the delayed response.

Cheers

Hi Kevin,

I'm afraid there are no current plans for vMSR for an iPhone.

Saw vMSR in action yesterday at Rick's, fantastic stuff and I'll be ordering the little gizmo when funds have recovered!

I was particularly interested in custom source labelling, which I believe is coming? To make the most of this, it would be nice if Meridian found a way to allow the custom labels to appear on DSPs, too, as well as recent controllers? Or at least ditch outdated buttons and labels and added more up-to-date ones (I mean, VCR-2, really?! I haven't had ONE VCR for about ten years wink

Great stuff though and well implemented from what I could see!
