Well I tried the calibration and didn't get any sound from the left or right speakers, but all other sounded fine. Went to look at the amps and sure enough the amps for the left and right speakers were flashing red. I have a screen wall that the amps are behind so it wasn't immediately evident. Shimmied behind the screen wall and unplugged/plugged the amps and all appears well now. The only thing I can think of is that I was watching a Directv PPV movie last week and it had horrible audio dropouts and loud pops. Maybe one of the pops tripped the protection circuits in the amps. Anyway, thanks to all who helped. That's why I love this site!

I guess we failed to ask "are the front main speakers working?" wink

Pleased you're up and running again.

Well I think we might be forgiven for not asking that question as the original post does imply that all the channels are operational. grin

Hi John,

Glad you're sorted.

Rule one... Always check the simple stuff first!

I learnt that lesson years ago having taken the lid off a piece of equipment which wasn't working, only to find the mains fuse in the plug had blown...

We've all done it! wink
