So... I got my IP2SL yesterday, hooked it up with null modem to the 518 in my upstairs system. Doesn't seem to want to communicate. I tried connecting to the DSP7000s in that system. It worked, but the DSP7000s don't respond to all RS232 commends correctly (known bug Meridian isn't going to fix).

I then brought it downstairs and tried connecting to my 568.2. No joy at all. I tried the 596. A few commends work, but not all (it's not the controller in the system.) Didn't have a long enough cable to connect it to the master DSP8000. The other one did nothing. The software is finding the IP2SL, but, according to the log window (turned on) the unit isn't getting what it wants from the Meridian components. All comm parameters are correct.

Why wouldn't it connect to the 568.2? I know the 518 is ancient, but the 568.2, though old, should respond to the RS232 commands. The port is good, as I"ve updated the unit with it more than once.

Is the vMSR not designed to talk to 500 series equipment? Really hoping to make this work.

Thanks,

John
