No not cheap but looks like it can serve as many devices which if you need them would end up cheaper

vMSR work like a charm with my 808v5 Anv.
Finaly I can pack away my "old" MSR+.

Ok, I have got this, connected it to my network and to my 3100HC (controller). All works fine except I'm getting no feedback from the processor of the DSP settings. My processor is in a cupboard which is why I got this.
I want to continue using the MSR+ which is why the centre is controller. But I really want to see and amend the DSP settings on the vMSR. Am I asking too much of it?

I think you have to connect it to your processor to get the feedback from it. If you connect to a DSP then it won't show the processor. Logical ?

Yes, logical... But can I continue to use the MSR+ using the IR on the DSPs if I make the processor the controller?

Typically a processor is set to controller. DSP as controller can get a bit weird. You may not have noticed that if you cannot see the display on the processor.
See how it goes. The new device should work perfectly with pro out of sight.
So, in other words no.

I have vMSR talking to my GC-100 RS232 port 1:1 connected to my 861 in a cabinet out of sight of the MSR+. My HC is set as master. All works great with either MSR.

Hi All,
Could I ask that anyone using the vMSR app who's getting on well with it, leave a review or at least a (5 hopefully!) star rating on the App store?
Also I'd ask if anyone is having problems then please PM me to discuss, rather than leaving a bad review if possible.

OK, all sorted. Set speakers to auto and processor to auto. Previously the centre was set to controller and other speakers and processor to N controller.
Plugged in IP2SL to the processor and all works fine. Great to be able to adjust DSP settings easily now with vMSR but can still use MSR+ if the iPad's not about.

After setting all to auto, did you point the MSR+ at processor (with system in standby) and press clear?
I ask as I suspect you now have two controllers now on your system.
This might be what you want but it is not a typical setup and can cause problems esp. when both controllers 'see' the IR signal.
