Meridian is pleased to announce the imminent availability of the virtualMSR for Meridian iPad app.

The vMSR app will enable owners to control their Meridian equipment with ease from their iPad, using a simple IP to RS232 converter.
It's modelled on the current MSR+ and performs all commands with the addition of 2-way feedback from your controller to the iPad, allowing for full control of Meridian equipment even if it's hidden out of sight.

For further details and support please visit www.virtualMSR.com

I have the Global Cache IP2SL, which is required to be able to use the vMSR app, in stock now for immediate shipping. Please PM me or phone our Sheffield shop to place an order.

Cheers,
Rick

Nice work Rick, a couple of questions:

Are the source button labels customisable?

Was there no scope to route via ID40 / ID41 card? We now that it does support basic Comms, could M not have expanded this?

Regards,
Carl

Hi Carl,

The source buttons aren't customisable in this release. It's on the wish list already though for version 2.

Unfortunately the current ID40/41 protocol doesn't allow for full control over IP. Using the serial port also provides control for those users who aren't 800 Series Sooloos owners.

Cheers,

Rick

Wow, this is great! It will certainly allow me much greater flexibility in locating a G68 in the renovation we have underway at the moment, so the timing couldn't be better.

I'm sure we can all think of additional functionality we'd like (I certainly can!) but getting an IP-based replacement for a physical MSR is a huge step in the right direction, IMHO. Congratulations to whoever amused themselves with this project in the weekends. smile

Nice to see that they have worked on an app. If they can intergate it with the core control for Sooloos users then it would be nicer. Then you don't need to switch between app's.

Very nice app, and if version 2 does give a chance for custom input button's then it is perfect.

Any idea when the app will be available?

As the Sooloos Core Control app only works if you have a Sooloos core on the network, this would mean vMSR only works for Sooloos owners, which surely is not what anyone wants?

A button on each to flip to the other would be my first wish. It's a common pattern with related iOS apps: FlightTrackPro and FlightBoard for example, or FB and FB Pages.

The spelling is important.

Bit of an overkill response to our requests to be able to put legacy gear into standby from the iPad. grin

That is the way I thought about it. This is an great app, and I hope Meridian would integrate it also in the Core Control. So you have it avalible by sliding or througt a button. Then it would be one app and the iPad does not have to switch between app's.
