Hi,
It is a SpeakerLink <---> SPDIF+Comms converter. Have a look in the 'Reviver - Sales & Support Forum' over in the Restaurant for more details.

These are SpeakerLink to conventional M/S cables adaptors. I don't think you need them yet, there are coaxial options.

To all MS600 respondents. I have connected my MS600 direct to the 7Ks by digital and hey presto works very nicely. Not sure is it significantly "better" than C15 via G61R have to do some more listening and cross checking.
Meanwhile I tried the same trick on by 18bit 5ks (currently my room one rears) and boo-hoo no sound. I suppose it's because the MS600 defaults to 24/96. I expect that one can do a work around in config if it's wired through a processor to make them function.
For sure I think this could be done on G61R but not sure about G91A. I am thinking about this because if I eventually get some 24/96 rears then my 18bit 5Ks would be relegated to room 2 and connected to the G91A we shall see.
Best regards and thanks for all your assistance. Huw

In Meridian Sooloos configuration there should be an audio endpoint entry for the MS600. You can select the Force 1x Output Sample Rate option. This will stop the upsampling of standard material. I'm not sure how you would deal with native hires material, to be honest.

I use my MC200 through the winter into my 518/565 system with forced 1x sample rate. Everything plays without issue. Summertime it all moves to conservatory and the F80 with 2X sample rate. Then DTS tracks won't play. Cheers, Chris
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Then DTS tracks won't play. This is what I would expect as the F80 can not decode an external DD/DTS signal, however your 565 can. Have you thought of adding a MS200 and having two zones? Regards, Carl

I recently added a MS600 to my second room set up. It linked to main room C15. I am not too happy with sound performance - rather disappointing. For those that don't have M speakers (Gasp...shock...horror) I recently used the digital out from the MS600 into an Audiolab MDAC. I could then switch between the balanced output of the MS600 and the balanced out of the MDAC using a Pass Labs x10 pre. The MDAC was not mine but it may be soon as to my ear the MDAC was better. Have to say I was disappointed given that the MDAC cost a third of the price and I can use it as a pre and a headphone amp. I love the MDMS as a front end but in future I will be advising any that ask to buy an MS200 (or MC200) and then use that to feed the DAC of your choice.

Bad advice. I think you'll find the digital out on the MS600 is far superior to the 200 series.

Bad advice. I think you'll find the digital out on the MS600 is far superior to the 200 series. Hi G997, I have an MS600, an MS200 and recently an MC200. I have had the MDAC on them all. And I'm sorry the MDAC won every time to my ears. My wife and daughter both thought the same so it's not just me. The difference between the 200's and the 600 using the digital out I thought was minimal. Certainly get better bang for you buck putting the substantial $ saved not getting the 600 towards better amps, speakers or whatever. I really wanted the MS600 to be better - I spent a lot of cash on it, but the other is better IMO. So yes I was disappointed. I should say it's not bad... it's just that I now think you can do better if you want to use an external DAC.

Nick,
Please reread my previous post. I said the digital out is better, which means the SPDIF(RCA) output is better. Pretty clear. And I stand by the MS600 digital out sounds better than the 200 series. If you really want to be enlightened try the digital out from an 818...

Ok I'm confused. Re read it and still baffled.
I took the SPDIF(RCA) out (digital out) of all three and plugged them into the digital inputs on the MDAC. I could then switch easily between each digital input. I could also use the preamp to compare the balanced analog of the ms600 and the balanced out of the mDAC and switch between them using the preamp.
There was minimal difference between the three as digital sources. I'd happily test the 818 but not likely to get the opportunity. And the analog out of the MDAC fed from any of the three was better than the analog out of the MS600 IMHO.
