I just got an Explorer to use with Sooloos on my Mac. Well I can't get it to work. The Explorer is recognised as a sound card output, but there is no sound out of the headphones. Works with iTunes. Heard that it works fine through Control:PC.

Be interested to know if anyone else has experienced the same!

Rob

It does work.

Have you enabled it in the Control:Mac settings?

Hi Ian,

Where do I enable it in settings? Looked in a few places including Desktop Audio but couldn't find it.

What zone are you queueing up your music to?

Top right hand side of the Control:Mac window has the selectable zones (above the "Meridian Sooloos" banner).

Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.

Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

You need to restart Control:Mac (every time) after connecting the Explorer. Once the Explorer is connected and Control:Mac started, you need to enable it (only the first time) in Desktop Audio after which it will become a normal Sooloos Zone all the while that Control:Mac is running.

dpstjp is right. I had the same problem, and had not selected the zone. Two clicks and you are listening, simples but not very evident to me as a new user.

It works perfectly fine with Control:Mac, as you have now read below.

I already described in words the set up necessary in my First Impressions post here several weeks ago. Sometimes it's a good idea to google HH before writing up a simple user error like this.

Pleased to hear you're a saint and spend hours looking everything up first to see that no one has posted on it before. Don't need your suggestions on how to use the forums. Have had Meridian since the 200 series and am more than familiar with their foibles. If you have a useful suggestion like that you can pm it. So learn some manners!

I think it's common courtesy to check the topic hasn't been covered before, especially if it's basic.

When asking for assistance, I feel you give up the right to be offended at innocently offered advice (especially from someone not using their mother tongue).

Just my opinion.
