Hello Dave,
I agree with the previous posts. You will go from G68 to balanced output 861v8. And you have the speakers and amps to enjoy the ride.

There will be no contest truthfully. And this is by just going of the digital improvements in the G6x series to 861v6. You will go all the way with 861v8 and balanced analog. You are definately gonna love this ride!

Mostly Rock, Jazz, standards and orchestral. I listen to both two channel and multi-channel on SACD, blu-ray and a few DVD-audio disks. Thanks.

I was able to get Hi Fi House of Delaware to get a 861v6 from Meridian which they will let me try out in my home. They are not sure if they can get it upgraded to a 861v8. I should have it in the next couple of weeks (hopefully). It should be fun and interesting to give it a try.

Meridian is now going to upgrade it to a v8 first. They also may make this demo model available for sale if I want to purchase it.

The unit is being delivered tomorrow. It is an 861v6 which has been upgraded to a v8. It has the 8 balanced outputs.

Fun!
Going from G68 to 861v6 2012 model was a blast in a digital setup so I bet you will be pleased going directly to an 861v8 in an analog setup. laugh

Hi Crion,

Of course the unit arrives and the salesperson from the dealer cannot set it up. So I am going to have to wait until next week for a tech who can run the set up. Do you know if the settings from the G68 can be used to run the setup of the 861, or is it completely different? If it's different, can some information be pulled from the G68 set up (like speaker distances, types, delay, etc.)?
