Looks like you are not uptodate. I cannot make out the version you have, but, you have a message there. Please report what message you have in the messages tab.

Tip for getting screen shots (if using windows)
Use "snipping tool".
select area of interest.
"save as" jpg.
Upload to HH gallery.

These are always very clear to view.

I'm sure the Mac folks will have a similar tool.

Looks something like 2.306 to me. My version of Control:Mac is 2.394 (build 315). I suspect the clue is in the fact that the 'message' button is there, probably highlighting the fact that there's a software update waiting to be done.

Hello

My Control:PC is 2.356 (Build 285) I'm loath to update because of the duplicating issues.

The whole system works perfectly.

The duplicating issues (for those that have it) is annoying but does not affect the system in any other way (that we know). However, if it's only the stats you need then I wouldn't bother updating. Just go to the debug screen and look at the stats there.

Neil, have you used the debug screen? Type in the IP address of the MC200 (192. etc, visible at the bottom of Control:PC) followed by /debug. This brings up information.

This was in another thread but now moved here.

Total collection presently on 3 TwinStores, each with twin 2 TB HDDS, and totals 11,370.

T1 & T2 hold the classical fare, jazz & some other while T3 holds Rock, Country and ilk.

Some statistics which might be of interest.

T1 & T2 now hold 9679 albums, 95% of which are classical (and I suspect these generally need more drive space).

This represents 3938 GB of storage on the two twin 2TB RAID systems with 246 GB free.

The implication of this is a total capacity possible for 10,284 albums although I would not like to push it beyond 10,000 - that is still 2,000 more than Meridian advise although the advice of only 4000/2 TB looks a bit too conservative.

On the backup side these 9679 albums take up 2.57 TB of the 2.72 available in the nominally 3 TB HDD. At 10,244 total BU capacity for the drive that correlates rather nicely with the 4TB HDDs, again underlining that pushing it past 10,000 could run into problems.

So, to summarise, based on the system here:

Each 1 TB of storage should comfortably hold 2500 albums and only require 750GB for a backup.

T3 (1691 pop/rock albums) still backing up ok at the rate of around 110/hour -> a total; of 15 hours for completion.

I was looking at this topic and I had a question:
How do you get 6000+ albums in your Sooloos?

I have less then 500 albums. And I haven't heard them all.

Rip album #1, rip next album, repeat till all done wink

Now having the time to re-listen to a life times' collection is a different matter. However it's nice to have the choice.

Carl

Ronald, only 500 albums and you haven't listened to them all yet? What have you been doing? Try harder please wink

In addition to what Carl noted, remember that many of us did not go from CD to Sooloos. Using other products like Squeezebox and Sonos has been around for several years now so:

A) Ripping CD's is done over a long period; importing already ripped albums is quick.
B) Once evolved beyond playing CD's many find the amount of music listened to increases significantly.
C) CD's generally are much cheaper now than 10 years ago.

People like a library, you don't read every book, but its nice they are there to compare/contrast and dip in if the mood takes.
The same is true for music. The album you want to listen to is the one your don't have.

Live long and prosper, you will need to with Sooloos lol Chris smile

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

Well, I am streaming about a year now so that will be it. eek

I don't have space for so many albums. A TwinStore or second MC200 would be needed in the future.

A MD600 would be nice but then I have to save some more money.

For now I am happy with the 500GB space. Who knows that in the future the 1TB disk can be placed in the MC200.
