Just came across this on the M website. I assume this the new product we've heard about? Meridian Explorer Not the M80 replacement, but certainly interesting?

Having re-read the info a coupe of times, M seem to be stressing the analogue output quality and placing it as an intro to Meridian. At first I thought it was another piece into an already crowded market of async USB adapters & DAC's but if the price isn't too horrendous it could find quite a market.

Interseting choice of product. Good starter device I suppose. No apodising though, guess that would be too power hungry.
Still eagerly awaiting the new M80 though.

There is a video at the bottom right corner of this Music Matters page with a run through that includes a picture with the case off.

Good to see Meridian offering its sound quality to different types of consumers and in a way that is modestly priced. They now need to bring out the F/M 80 replacement to tempt those listeners firmly onto the Meridian ladder (escalator?).

Now the cat's out of the bag, this is the product I was alluding to earlier and we're very proud to be the first dealer that will be demonstrating them from tomorrow.
Sound wise it really is a fantastic little product and the audio quality is absolutely sublime! Tried them with headphones ranging from 40 to 1,800 and its a fantastic partner for them all so far!

Hi Dan, please would you qualify this claim? Which headphones? What material have you listened to? Mac? PC? Which media player? Etc.
Thanks, Joel

Hi Joel,
So far listened to it with a range of B&W and Grado headphones, exact models fitting in the price range mentioned earlier but will confirm the models later.
Source material wise, everything from 128 MP3 to 192/24 FLAC and multiple genres. Player wise I've been using iTunes and foobar with the ASIO plugin.
Thanks, Dan
