Well if that USB input would have been 7.1 multichannel capable then we would have something really unique there. I welcome 2ch 24/196 USB input but with an ID40 Sooloos board already in the system it might not get used that much. Will try it out though.

I have my 861 upgraded and find that my ID40 card could not be used. It must be replaced by an ID41 card.

Has this been confirmed by Meridian / Dealer. I ask as Rick told us that updating to an ID41 was optional.

To be precise Either an ID40 or ID41 could be used in a v6 or v8, but I can't see the point of running both, other than for that of performance comparison. (Just for info, not stirring.) I suppose optional means you don't need to if you're not using Sooloos, if you are, it's not.

The ID40 card is not working in an upgraded 861. My dealer could not get the 861 running if the ID40 card was installed. So it is absolutely not optional. You have replace the card.

"To be precise" meant that this was what was said (written) only.
Optional must mean if you don't use Sooloos you don't need an ID41, if using Sooloos, compulsory.
