Background info: My protocol is to rip a CD to DB and then import said file into my MDMS. I maintain a seperate "master" folder of all DB rips for safekeeping.

Does anyone know of a utility function that will allow a user to view/print a list of media imported into MDMS system?

My reason for asking is that M is finally getting around to replacing a defective HD in my MC200. M will install a new HD and informed me to do a restore from my backup.

Thats fine and well but I'd like to be able to see exactly what content was transfered from my backup into the replacement HD.

If theres a way to view/print a list it would make it easier to compare the restore against my DB "master" folder inventory. If there are any missing discs on the backup then I can reimport them from the DB "master" folder.

Hi,

To get a list of albums that are with MDMS use a browser and point it at your Sooloos Control, in you case this will be the MC200. http://192.168.1.113/debug

This will display a page of information titled:

Sooloos Broker Debug
Broker Information
Album Listing - HTML / Text

Click on the Text link to display a list of all the albums.

I then copy this list to a text edit that has a column mode (e.g. UltraEdit) and then stip out the first part of each line and sort the text which yields some think like this.

Code
10,000 Maniacs Blind Man's Zoo [1 / 1 ]
10,000 Maniacs Campfire Songs: The Popular, Obscure & Unknown Recordings [1 / 2 ]
10,000 Maniacs Campfire Songs: The Popular, Obscure & Unknown Recordings [2 / 2 ]
10,000 Maniacs Hope Chest: The Fredonia Recordings 1982-1983 [1 / 1 ]
10,000 Maniacs In My Tribe [1 / 1 ]
10,000 Maniacs Love Among the Ruins [1 / 1 ]
10,000 Maniacs MTV Unplugged [1 / 1 ]
10,000 Maniacs Our Time in Eden [1 / 1 ]
10,000 Maniacs The Earth Pressed Flat [1 / 1 ]
10,000 Maniacs The Wishing Chair [1 / 1 ]
10cc Changing Faces: Best Of 10cc & Godley & Creme [1 / 1 ]
10cc The Very Best of 10cc [Import] [1 / 1 ]

You can then compare this list against your external Master listing (UltraCompare is good for comparing text files).
Though you will have to do some manipulation of the text to be able to direcly compare across text files.
I guess you could import the text in to a spread sheet and work that way, if you wished.

Regards,
Carl

Using debug info, copy all and paste to MS XL and simply apply "text to columns" delimited to get the data looking right.

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks Gents. My MC200 is at my dealers for HD replacemnt. I'll have it back later this week. Let's hope that the "restore" process goes smoothly.

Nick, This is really an excel question. Could you lay out the exact steps to use a text to columns format. I copied the data to a new XL shhet and tried the "text to column" feature to no avail. I'm using MS XL 2007.

Thanks,
Matsaly
