After hard reboots of MD600 the problem was not evident for 6 weeks, however Captain Beefheart is back with a Replica of Trout Mask Replica (even more fishy) plus many other duplicates on Control:Mac.

Chaka Khan "Funk This" not a typo but maybe an implied sentiment is another regular duplication.

I was confused, I am still confused. Is it not time for M to comment publicly on this issue / non issue and advise how they propose to fix it?

Certainly this problem can be irritating (I started this thread, after all), but it really doesn't prevent one from using and enjoying the system. Fortunately, in my case, it comes and goes - and seems to defy any predictable logic about when and how. I was tribbles-free for weeks, had doubling for a week, and am now clear again.

For balance I'd like to added this to my last couple of posts.

Don't get me wrong I think M are well over due in giving us a fix for this. However, I do speak to my M dealer and do push on this, I'm not getting the answers I want but at least I'm trying to drive it forwards and not just complaining in the forum about it.

Regards,
Carl

Hi,

Why should I talk to my dealer when Rick from audio images early on said that M was informed and working on a fix?

As Rick told us he can't say when this fix is released. So maybe it will be in two months or six years. Who knows? Only M knows and even if I told my dealer about the problem how can I sure that he contacts M? How do I know what he says to M?

I have no way of controling the info that M gets.

So the deal with talking to the dealer does not make the communication better, safer, more accurate or anything like that.

This is why this is not a good form of communication in any way.

Best regards Per

It's called lobbying, I can't speak to the Prime Minister but I can speak to my local MP.

If enough people speak then maybe the priorities back at Meridian might get revised or they might feel more inclined to make a statement about some that is affecting you.

Carl

I complained to my dealer about the 48kHz Control:Mac bug, and when I later asked about M's response, I was told it was right at the bottom of the list because I am the ONLY person ever to have reported it.

This bug was confirmed by others here, but they evidently didn't report it. Perhaps we assume that if one person reports it, M will just sit down and fix it.

Evidently they prioritise according to the number of reports, so users need to report all bugs that affect them through their dealers, even if they think they are known and prioritised bugs.

The size of this thread reflects the extreme frustration about the problem, one which does not cripple the system, but is irritating.

I contacted my dealer months ago and he had hoped it would be fixed soon but obviously that hope was misplaced.

I made my self unpopular with moderators earlier in the year (and was threatened with being banned) complaining about this lack of communication and bugs in the system so gave up. Guys, it is not worth the effort. Maybe one of these days (months, years, ....) M might attend to items and improve the system. If they do not they will lose their present market position. Sadly that is no real consolation to those of us who have spent thousands of dollars on it.

Such is life.

Hi John, as you have raised this in public, the moderators (plural) requested that you stopped 'banging the drum' about the same issue over and over again re. Metadata issue being a Sooloos fault.

Carl

Carl, I suggest you re-read our correspondence of last May and you will see that the Metadata was not the issue. But we have moved on so let us leave that behind.

But what this thread highlights is the need for feedback from M. Their abdication of PR is not doing themselves a favour. It is obvious that communications via dealers do not satisfy their customers so can anyone suggest how this message can be got through to them so they might change direction?

It has been previously suggested that M do look at HH here but the earlier postings suggest otherwise. It seems unfair that Rick be the only conduit for information.

Ideas?

John
