Simon, IMHO an 800 remains the highest resolution input device for DVD-A material. Although I haven't listened to the new Oppo BDP 103 reproduce MLP or Advanced Resolution codecs, my 800 out performs my BDP 93/HD621 to 861v4 in every respect. You might miss your 800 down the road.

For me DVD-A material is why I have retained the 800D, nothing else get close to it.
Now if Sooloos supported FLAC 5.1 it would be a different matter.

Yep, agree with everything you said, although I don't have all that many DVD-A discs that get regular play. One of the other reasons I have kept my 800 (and it's an emotional one, given I have a finance background and understand the notion of 'sunk costs') is how much the thing cost to buy and how relatively little it is now worth on the used market. Technology marches on, clearly. Anyhow, thanks everyone for your comments. Simon
