Three TwinStores of 2x 2 TB each. Backing up 1 & 2 at the moment (a 3+ day operation) so no stats on TwinStore 3.

For 1 & 2:

Artists = 3756*
Albums = 9122
Storage = 3938 GB (488 free)

* The number of artists is misleading as there is some duplication with e.g. the same conductor/artist with different orchestras etc.

Hi John,

Whilst the stats aren't especially of interest to me personally, your comment about not being able to see the stats from your Twinstore3 is puzzling, along with the comment that the backup is a 3+ day operation.

I guess the reason is you're turning off one TwinStore at a time to backup the remaining albums?

As a suggestion you could try tagging your collection into large groups of albums with tags such as 'Backup1', 'Backup2', and so on. Then only backup those tagged selections to your backup drive. This works well for me, as my music collection is larger than each of the external backup drives that I use. The system is smart enough to know, when you select a backup destination, that the backup at that destination contains the specific 'Backup[x]' tag which makes it quite easy to manage backups using this method.

The other thing to note is that the backup is incremental, so shouldn't take several days, once you've done the first backup. This stands true for the 'tagged' method I've adopted and works well.

Happy to grab some screen shots for you if it's something you think you might be interested in trying.

Ian

Hi Ian,

John has been advised on this before, but he chooses to follow his own path which he is more comfortable with.

Carl

Thanks for the suggestions Ian and incremental back ups is what is normally done here. However I have just completed a massive editing program of the 9100 folders and part of that involved deleting a few duplications. My dealer told me that incremental BUs would not register this so it seemed appropriate to do a fresh one.

TwinStore 3 is off because TwinStore 1 & 2 are backing onto a 3 TB HDD - T3 has its own separate BU at the moment.

Ironically, we are away from home at the moment so the big BU had to be terminated as it did not finish in time but will be resumed on our return. Microsoft had obligingly installed further upgrades overnight so that ensured the BU was incomplete. No worry, just a side issue.

Hello

How do you get to this information?

I can't find it with my MC200.

Hi

I did read the first post but I don't have the 'Information' tab. I wonder why this is?

I also don't have an S drive for my Sooloos system.

If you open 'Settings' on Control:PC you should see a number of buttons on the bottom right hand side one of which is marked 'Information'. If you click on this button a window opens with your system information.

These are my screen shots, sorry they're not too clear, if it's there "staring at me" I can't see it.

There is stuff missing there, I can't read the build number. You should have a lot more links at the bottom.

Mine is Control:PC 2.394 (build 323) I hope that helps.

Click on Message, let us know what is says.
