Some great reviews; thanks to all. As a non-MDMS owner, this gives a great sense of some of the experience benefits. Meridian could create some great advertising copy from a number of these comments.

Cheers, Ian

Not according to the network packets or core debugging. Network packets do show Control:Web as MP3 though.

I'm going by what I've been told by Meridian in the past. My understanding is that playback on Control:PC uses the FLAC files (so that it doesn't matter if MP3 transcoding is switched on or off) but that it transcodes on the fly. I will see if I can double check with Meridian though.

On a related note, I have noticed is that if you link a Control:Mac zone to another system zone, the playback via Control:Mac is slightly delayed. I haven't tried this with Control:PC but I suspect it's the same. Suggests that Control:Mac is doing some sort of processing before outputting to the audio, though I don't know what. I'm not suggesting that this shows that the FLAC files are being reduced to MP3, but thought it worth mentioning whilst on this topic.

You are correct, with Control:PC there is a delay and it is noticeable even if you sync the zones.

That just could be down to latency within the PC. It will not be optimised/dedicated to its task like an audio end - point.

A resounding yes! I had a Naim NS01, and I think I listened less, with that! I think the C10 makes all the difference. Not a fan of any of the tablet based controls, but Sooloos has opened me up to so much.

Primary: MD600, MS200 (SpeakerLink to AES), Trinnov ST-2, Ayre V6-xe, Salk SS8 3x LRC.
Secondary: MC600 (whole house).
Zone one: 568.2, G57, MS200, Spatial Hologram M2SE.
Zone 2-6 (Awaiting assignment).

I agree, I really like my iPad but the C10 blows it away for usability.

Can't they put the functionality of a C10/15 on some tablet, running windows, dump the hardware not needed for a pure control function? I can't see an iPad app ever getting there but I'd save up for a dedicated tablet. Isn't that where the two would meet?

Nice as the iPad APP is, I agree with the sentiment the C10/C15 is much more functional so a better tablet APP would be an improvement. But this is unlikely. Better to see the bugs fixed in the system first and more functionality introduced. This is important if M wish to remain the head of the audio server heap.
