I have had several Naim streaming devices (Uniti, UnitiQute, NDX) and they were all highly stable. I haven't encountered a single problem, nor any bugs in the software. I will have to draw exception to this. I found the Naim platform unstable. I also wasn't impressed with their interface. I used the NS01 via a NAS and my Sooloos has been materially more stable then the Naim.
Primary: MD600, MS200 (SpeakerLink to AES), Trinnov ST-2, Ayre V6-xe, Salk SS8 3x LRC. Secondary: MC600 (whole house). Zone one: 568.2, G57, MS200, Spatial Hologram M2SE. Zone 2-6 (Awaiting assignment).

How would the power supplied by SpeakerLink compare, in theory?

What was the fault with your 861v6? 12v rail failure on the PSU. Fortunately was still under warranty and Meridian in Atlanta are very fast at turning around repairs in my experience. Also, just got my MS200 - neat little device. Needed a 3.5mm phono to RCA adapter for analog output and, wouldn't you know it, none of the adapters I had in my bits'n'bobs drawers would fit. $@#%%&. All were fat body form that won't clear the chassis to seat properly into the socket. Not a biggie, just requires a trip to Radio Shack, but for anyone planning to use analog output, be advised.

How would the power supplied by SpeakerLink compare, in theory? I understand this is the preferred solution; powering the MS200 from SpeakerLink should be better than from the external power supply. Rick

LOL am sure it is Rick, especially as you have to buy a pair of DSP's to achieve this If I were M I would "prefer" that too.

Hi Nick, and I've been told that they sound best into DSP8000 No, my point is that the 'power over SpeakerLink' connection may be seen as simply the easiest way of powering the MS200. Owners may think that even if they have a SpeakerLink speaker designed to power the MS200, they would still get better performance using the external power supply. Actually if using SpeakerLink speakers which can provide sufficient current for the MS200, like DSP3200 or M6 then you should use them to power the MS200 over the external power supply as the best performance solution. Earlier SpeakerLink speakers may require the external power supply to provide robust MS200 operation, as they were manufactured before the MS200 was conceived, and therefore may not supply sufficient current for stable operation. A trial and error I'm afraid. Cheers, Rick

Thanks Rick.
I noted that RSAV had an MS200 powered by a 3-4 year old pair of SpeakerLink DSP5200. So, it does suggest that it is worth trying not just on the new displayless DSP's.

Just trying the various permutations that exist in my house of SBT versus MS200.
The difference between variable analogue outs of MS200 and SBT is large, MS200 giving much better detail than the SBT. Seems to work quite happily using an Apple Express to provide wifi connection.
Sooloos, Roon, G series (with LPS upgrade), 800 series (with LPS upgrade), HD621, AC200, Prime and PS, DSPs old and new.
Purdeys, Moke, Leica, 'Blad. Only the best.

I will get the MS200 in for a review shortly. The distributor tells me demand is high but hopes to deliver in about two weeks. I'll post the link here when the review is done.

When you do your review can you please compare the sound quality using optical verses SpeakerLink (via an adapter if necessary)?

I'm guessing the MS200 needs the windows configuration app, to change sampling rates etc. as I can't seem to get there on my Mac. Can someone confirm. Does anyone know if the default setting is 2x sample rate and apodising? I would so like that to be the case I was disappointed to find out the either/or choice of analog or digital output, from the single mini output, does not play nice with my AV receiver in the living room system. I had an Apple TV version one feeding analog AND digital to the AV receiver, which only outputs analog to zones 2 and 3 (dining and kitchen), which are adjacent with large openings. My wife is really going to love my work around. Turn it up! On a positive note, it sounds very good through Onkyo receiver as processor, Parasound Class A 5 channel Amp, and Triad Silver LCR monitors.

James, I think the configuration of the MS200 is done through web browser, so OS independent. There is a screen shot on the datasheet . You type in the IP address of the unit (get this from router interrogation) on the address window of the browser.
