Found This
Roy Harper, "Live in Concert at Metropolis Studios, London"
Often beautifully musically discordant, lyrically provocative and occasionally suggestive this album captures the live moment and "You Are There".
The intimacy and SQ captured on this recording is incredible.
My 5K's loved this, they told me so!! Please listen.

OGWT Live ....3 CD set going pretty cheap at Amazon. Have just had a wizz through it as I import and there are some great tracks on here. Just watch out for AMG throwing some dodgy track data on CD 2 and CD3.

Plus another bonus I just discovered
Neil Young 1-4

These get great reviews and are HDCD so are showing up as Hi-Res in Sooloos (because they are 24bit) after originally ripping in dpba with the HDCD decoder.

Just listening to Clapton's "One More Car, One More Rider", his live double album + DVD from 2001.
Highly recommended, despite some mixed reviews, I got it after seeing the concert on Sky Arts recently. I think really captures the feel of a Clapton concert.

Hi All
I have just been blown away by "The Best of the King's Singers". This recording totally justifies the investment in "M" equipment. I beg, beseech you to listen to this but respectfully suggest that you set aside the requisite time to fully appreciate the included offerings from many genres.
Truly wonderful from Part to Byrd to Tavener to Cole to Joel to Cohen to Young plus much, much more.
This transcends time and space to bring a unique experience to the listener.

I cannot recommend a single disc, as my tastes vary from day to day. But here is a collection of RedBook and SACD that I find have great sonics along with great music. I have not had the ability to play DVD-A for quite a few years, so no real recommendations there (maybe Steely Dan - All Things Must Go, is a good one I remember).

Some of the discs I have which I feel have great sonics and stand my test of sounding great on multiple system listening. Also since the day and time dictate what I may listen to, you will see many different genres listed. Like any list, you better like the music if you are considering purchasing the disc. Stop buying music for what someone said is great quality, buy music you like to listen to.

Nils Lofgren - Acoustic Live (Redbook)
Cannonball Adderly Somethin else (SACD Blue Note Reissue)
Fiona Joy Hawkins Blue Dream (SACD)
Gerry Mulligan meets Ben Webster - MoFi (Redbook)
Sonny Rollins Way out West (SACD)
Eva Cassidy - Live at Blues Alley (Redbook)
The E.S.E. Sessions - Blue Coast Collection (SACD)
Flim & the BB's - Tricycle (SACD)
Steven Davis - Quality of Sound (SACD)
Yellow Jackets - Lifecycle (SACD)
Oliver Nelson The Blues & Absolute Truth Analogue Productions (SACD)
Hank Jones Great Jazz Trio July 6th Live at Birdland (SACD)
Mark Knopfler - Shangrai-La (SACD) - (better sound quality than BIA)
Amanda McBroom - Live from Rainbow and Stars (Redbook)
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here - Analogue Productions (SACD)
Diana Krall - Love Scenes (SACD) (IMO the best sounding Krall)

Anyone have any experience with the clsssical boxed sets from Mercury Living Presence, DG, RCA or EMI. Specifically SQ and meta data for ripping to Sooloos?

I'd be interested to see an answer to Ken's question and then ask the same about "Living Stereo" box set?

Cheers

I am not a very big classical person, but I do like some Baroque or Classical era music at times.

I did not get a box set, but I do have one of the RCA's and I really like the SQ of it (I believe the RCA's are three channel and not 5.1)

RCA Living Stereo - Sherherazade

I also had the RCA for Billy the Kid, Grand Canyon Suite. Nice sonics, but gave the album to a friend who really enjoyed the music.
