Howdy,

Proud new owner of a G61 - Yeah me! I was able to get the G61 programmed with MConfig and no issues. MConfig is a great program.

When coming out of CONFIG or when powering up (power switch on back), the G61 defaults to a certain INPUT on my unit.

Can this default INPUT be changed? I have searched the site here quite a bit, and I have also read through the Config and Installation Guides, but I do not seem to be able to find it. Anyone have some knowledge of how to change this?

No biggie if this cannot be changed.

Thanks
Dan

It's been a while since I had a processor in my setup but doesn't power on via switch put unit into standby? If so, to bring unit out of standby you just press source button on MSR and it go to that input.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, it is very easy just to select the input after power up, but just wondering if the default input selection could be set.

Shouldn't selecting the input bring it out of standby on that input, I think that is what Ian was saying?

Ian's point is that after mains power-up the unit is in standby.

So you have to switch it out of standby and this is done by selecting a source (of your choice).

So Ian and I are not sure where this 'default' source that you speak of is coming from as the unit selects the given source that you have pressed.

Have we missed something?

Regards,
Carl

Alright...let me see if I can explain this better.

Wife has hard time with stereo, buttons, etc.

If I have the unit with input selection on TV, volume set at 72, then I go into standby by pressing button on front of unit.

I turn off the G61 with the rear rocker switch, then turn it back on (think power outage type event), the unit is now in Standby. You can not see anything for the soft-keys as the unit is in standby.

You touch the power/standby button on the front, and the unit comes on, but the INPUT is not TV, it is <x>, a different input or a default input, and volume has now changed to 65. I would like to change <x> so it is the default INPUT of my choice, along with starting volume setting. (again think of a power event).

BTW, this same thing occurs if you worked with MConfig, then take the unit out of standby by pressing front power button. It goes back to the <x> default input selection and volume set for 65.

I realize, I just have to press the TV button and change volume to 72. Easy for me - sometimes difficult for electronics challenged wife. She expects to turn something on, and VOILA smile

Had this feature on my last processor, so was just wondering if this was something which could be configured.

Thanks,
Dan

I believe I have figured out the Power On Input selection. This will be the first USED input. Now the volume at 65...no idea where this comes from. Probably part of the internal code.

The default volume at 'switch on' can be set in the Config program

In the config program, right click on the processor, Setup tab, start up volume, the range is between 25 and 87.

iirc that in config, 65 is a special value meaning keep volume same as before when coming out of *standby*. When *powering on* (rather than coming out of standby) it will always revert to 65 iirc or is it, will always revert to 65 unless set otherwise?

My G68 behaves like this:

When coming out of standby: volume = that last used

On cold switch on: volume = Config setting (40 in my case)

Main system - Sources (Kodi-HTPC, Vero 4k, FireTV, Sat) into Trinnov Altitude 32 (8-16) (+Roon), Trinnov Amplitude 8 amp & Vivid Audio (Giya G3, V1.5) and REL Stentor III speakers. Others: F80 + Raspberry Pi and other Pi systems.
